    I’m in need of some help. I am hoping to give my nephew, my Xbox one in the near future. He owns a 360 already but he doesn’t have an Xbox Live account. My question is, will he need to buy a subscription for Xbox Live so he can still play his 360 games on
    the Xbox one

    I know xbox one has all new hardware, but cant it play xbox 360 games? Otherwise, will i have to get all my games again?

    Question about Games on Demand...

    Does anyone know if you can play 360 games from Games on Demand on the Xbox One? I've been buying games from Games on Demand lately and the reason for this is because I figured you'd be able to play them on the Xbox One since the Xbox One can't read 360
    game discs. Also, if you can play 360 games on the Xbox One via Games on Demand, what servers would you be playing on? Like if I bought CoD Ghost on the 360 version of Games on Demand, transferred my account onto an Xbox One, would I still be playing on the
    360 servers? Or the Xbox One servers?

    If he's wanting to simply play them, then as StuartATrueRed said, he would just need a Live account (not gold) in order to sign into the One and access the games on his account. But if he's wanting to transfer his game saves, he does need a gold subscription
    in order to save them to the cloud on the 360.

    In theory you can connect a Xbox One S, Xbox One X and Xbox 360 consoles locally. However, the game you intend to play has to support local link play.

    However, for Xbox One games, I know of no game that supports local link play.

    On the Xbox 360, there are several games that allow local network play, and if the Xbox 360 game is backwards compatible, you can also play that Xbox 360 version of the game on your Xbox One.

    However, be aware that you can NOT play the Xbox One version of a game with the Xbox 360 Version of the game. So for example, you can NOT play FIFA 14 on the Xbox One together with a person playing FIFA 14 on the Xbox 360.

    You can however play Halo 3 as a backwards compatible Xbox 360 title on the Xbox One together with someone on a Xbox 360.

    An Xbox 360 game will always be an Xbox 360 game whether it is played on the Xbox 360 or an Xbox One through backward compatibility, same with original Xbox games. They were developed to play on one console. It's only through the magic of back compat they
    play on the One. They are still Xbox 360 and original Xbox games to me.

    Even though you can play Xbox 360 games on Xbox One this is and always be a no go. You can play a 360 game on Xbox one provided it is compatible with someone on 360 but you have never been able to play a Xbox One version of a game with someone who is playing
    a 360 version of the same game.
