Players abusing rep system

I am an avid Overwatch player and I've noticed that ever since the competitive scene has come out, people have become salty and abuse reports/blocks simply because they don't like a hero you've chosen, or because they're in a party and need a scapegoat for
their loss. I always play to the best of my ability regardless of the hero I choose and do what I can to help my team. Refusing to join team chat and then blaming the Hanzo/Torb or whatever other hero who has been on fire the whole game for the loss is not
a valid reason to report someone. These reports are never actually investigated. The system simply acknowledges that you played with them and accepts the report as true. My reputation was flawless until I got this game and because of toxic players abusing
reports I have to sit in "Needs Work"? That is unjustified and ridiculous.

I really hope it cannot be abused like the 360's rep system.

Not really needed in my opinion. The last rep system was abused.

 

how is it abusing it when you aren't being an team player?

You do realize that not working with your team is actually a valid sportmanship complaint right?

Why not leave the lobby if they don't like working with you

Why not join private parties or clubs with your play style

 

FFor examples going to play point when my team asks me to play rear guard

If I play point guess what happens when they complain it's valid

I think you misunderstood. These people refuse to go to team chat. I am always in team chat and always switch heroes when necessary.

 

Scapegoating someone because you lost is the definition of salty.

 

If you think this system works you're a part of the problem. It's a fully automatic system with zero investigation.

You just blatantly believe what it says? It only sees if you played with someone and accepts their report if you did. I don't have to play a character someone else tells me to. I play what fits the comp. It doesn't have to be a meta character to be useful.
If there was any real lack of sportsmanship, it would be a valid report. Simply not liking someone's choice and reporting them before the game starts is childish and an invalid reason.

If it was as flawed as you think then millions of people would be affected but they aren't.

 

So what you're saying is I should just report my teammates for unsportsmanlike behavior if I don't like their character? So if there's a junkrat on my team and he is doing more than our 76 who is feeding them I should report the junkrat because he's not
meta? There are thousands of these threads. Blizzard did away with the avoid player system on PC because it was abused. Are you saying xbox players are saints and would absolutely never report their team just because they were mad they lost?
