Like he says the report > block > move on options are the best way to deal with it. The nice thing about the One is you now have an option to see people you have blocked. Just in case you ever decide to change your mind. It's much faster to find those now.

 

I watched the video too, Listed. It had some good humor thrown in as well.

They have this cool new feature on the Xbox One now that I use almost always these days...The MUTE button feature. Well actually it's not new but it works flawlessly whenever you get dipshts or typical halo kids home after school....ah the days of playing
Halo 2 and hearing a 12 year old say things that would make a nun blush.....hmm, maybe I need to go get Halo MCC afterall....good memories...lol

 

I just dont understand what the point in blowing it out of proportion by making youtube videos, facebook posts, Memes and tweets about it.

This new system is close to perfect as it will ever get. I personally dont see a way for it to be abused.

In all walks of life your going to find abusive trolls. I recently had a job that had some "abusive troll" yea we will call them that here on this site.

What did i do report block and move on. It works everywhere you go.

The sucky part is i have way less money than I'm used too now. So they kinda won but i for sure am not about too make a youtube or Meme about it.

Im just tryn to understand smilesky's point... Especially cause now that will drag others down.

Seems maybe MS should refresh peoples memory's on how the new system works.

 

The reporting system can be flawed sometimes, so I can understand why you are posting here, seeing as that this is one of the threads that get a lot of attention. You do know you can block him from sending messages right?

Plus like others said, just edit your privacy settings.

There is obviously some things you don't understand about it for you too actually believe that.

You just saying its flawed doesn't make it so.

Lots of peps make videos on pretty much anything. I've only reported 4 peps on XBL and they were the type who swore badly in game chat or messages. My Youtube channel has some personal vids and mainly gameplay several with friends.

I've heard about a so called XBL enforcement video but I'd probably fall asleep watching it if it's longer than 15 minutes. Watching peps who are probably 20 years older than I am going through the serious side of Xbox. All I need on Xbox is a common sense
and to have a good time.

Let me make it simple. You can report, block, mute, and move on. Contact Xbox Support if you feel you have to, and if their actions are illegal like death/sex threats no one is stopping you from reporting it to your parents or the police. You can also report
in a specific section on this site I think too.

21st century technology isn't always perfect. Just look at how many times certain XBL services have been down this year alone. So can see why some here may say the system is flawed. I think the system is good enough. Not everyone may share your level of
professional maturity.

Lets say I play Forza 5 Playground Virus Tag multiplayer. I ram some players vehicles sometimes. A few grunchy peps report me for bad sportsmanship and if my Rep goes down to Needs Improving or Avoid Me. The Xbox Live system should notice that the game developers
have made the specific playground playlist where it is common for immature gameplay and ramming is an official objective in the game. Does the Xbox Live system's algorithms acknowledge that, or does it just count the genuine reports? Listed this is a rhetorical
question. Yes I could edit my privacy settings to only receive messages from friends but I'm kind of cutting myself off from others on XBL if I did that.

 

I know and thats why i remain open but just mute players. I don't tend too feel the need to report anyone unless I'm in an bad mood but even still its for thing like inappropriate gamer tags and violent msgs.

Im not trying to force anything on you i just wanted you to be aware there are repercussions to people getting lured into reporting for friends.

Its something that a lot of people do not know yet.

If people want to make YouTube vids about it no sweat off my back but they should know if someones watching and they think oh yea lets report this guy. It will do more harm than good.

Hello I contacted Xbox.com after being DDOS by gt [Gt Removed] - Do not name and shame on the forums. i ask everyone that see's this report him for tampering ' System Tampering ' DDOS, Not only my self but many other players are being kicked
from are online gaming while just playing with friends on game ' Destiny ' Kicked and while Playing PvP game Type ' ToO ' ( Trials ) You leave game or kicked you get a lose on your card. I have video Footage. This is not the first time its happened and many
other players been getting kicked for either player has bad connection or DDOS. I reported this to xbox.com and said type this up on the forms. I ask everyone To REPORT HIM! he is a hacker and made a disturbance not only to me but as I sent a message to other

You were lied to.

The forum rules state you aren't allowed to name and shame. This is because this is a public forum and as normal users we can't tell who is telling the truth.

Also you can't ask others to report him. One report is enough for a case to be investigated.

Another thing is that it is a waste of time reporting a DDoS attack to Microsoft because they can do nothing about it. The person in question is not attacking Live but your internet connection. The correct people to be reporting this incident to would be
your ISP, as such attacks are illegal.

 

We Had a group of 3 people 3 players in the same GAME and all at the same time we all got kicked. So normally if its due to bad connection !!! it would had removed one player not all of us. Its happaned more than once and it was said by xbox.com to type
what was done on the forms to push this against the player because its wrong illegal you said .. so its very wrong ! the question wasn't my internet at all.. my internet for all 8 other games i had with friends was fine, not to question..the connection, we
wasn't kicked in any other games like this .. or lagged out or anything eles. we was KICKED OUT OF ARE OWN GAME ! as i sent a message to all friends and got a positive response that others gamer's have played against the player also had the same occurrence.
Lag switching and DDOS.. now we have reported him and many others and i ask the community to do the same thing.. im not trying to waste anyones time, im doing the right thing to be herd, to make things right, i was attacked, he needs to wake up. if he cant
play it and get away with cheating, no ... i seek justice and i feel this is the right way to do it !! so REPORT HIM.. so the gt can be investigated and the right actions to either suspend account or ban account will take affect

 

A DDoS attacks your connection. A person is capable of doing more than one at a time and stopping when they like.

Whomever you spoke to was wrong. You can't report Live offences the forum, there is nowhere for you to do that.

If you've reported the person through your console then that is all you can do through Microsoft. You also need to contact your ISP about this.
