Player hacking my I.P Address

Hello Xbox Support team.

I had a player by the name of [Moderator removed: Please do not name and shame other LIVE members on the forums] was messaging me about killing people on GTA 5.

After i messaged him he told me that i shouldn't have done that and got my IP Address and hacked and shut off my internet. I want something done about this because this is illegal. Either ban him or block him, I dont care but please do something. This actions
have to stop because this is not the first time. Please help.

Error Code

Every time I start my XBOX it gives an error code. I have tried to fix my I.P address but I see that my I.P address is not the issue. Is there anyway to fix this error code? I a, getting really annoyed that I cannot use something I payed a ridiculous amount
of money for!

Random disconnects from Xbox live

This could be a result of a change in I.P address, as with most home internet service providers, your ip address can change every 3 days, 3 months, 6 months, or a year. What I would do at this point is reset your modem, and clear you Xbox system cache. Your
Xbox is so used to using that I.P. address, that it is trying to access separate servers, using an I.P. address, that doesn't match the physical location, and most higher end or Microsoft servers, will kick you of, due to the server thinking you are using
a fraudulent I.P. address, and pirating internet.

Calling out other gamers is not allowed on the forums. You would need to file a complaint on him via the console if you want the enforcement team to investigate him.

This is not really ' Hacking ' to be technical. This is called a
[D] DoS Attack, or a [Distributed] Denial of Service Attack. This is when an attacker floods your router or cable modem with large amounts of packets, until it crashes. This also currently carries up to a 10-year sentence in the United States if brought
to authorities. To stop the attack, all you need to do is unplug your router or cable modem for at least 15 minutes, usually giving you a new IP address, which the attacker does not know. If this does not help the problem, consider calling your ISP
(Internet Service Provider) about the issue. Most ISPs will be generous enough to give you a new IP address, and some even deflect the packages back the the source. After doing this, find the attacker's profile and block communications and file a complaint
against the player on his profile as well.

After blocking communications, do not communicate with the attacker in any way, even text messages over Xbox, as he will be able to get your new IP address and resume attacking you.

cheers for the reply. this could be me being selfish my problem is i was looking to keep my sky player ( not sure if thats just a uk+irl app would like a verify on that

)and was afraid to start a canadian account and lose sky player as im a big soccer
fan and have the channels on that, or if i get an i.p address change and get a uk i.p would that work with a uk pre paid gold???

Some internet providers use a system of temporary i.p. addresses. This is used to cut back on computers getting hacked and information being stolen. So basically at that time your internet is dropping out that's when they're issuing a new temp i.p. address.
Or they could be doing data upgrades or repairs. Either way I would call customer care and complain. For the inconvenience they should be able to apply a credit to the account.
