    Hello ladies & gentlemen.

Here's a thought to ponder over, how do you feel about player driven economy in video games?

I play a lot of games like Warframe, Elite Dangerous Etc & due to trading & various other means the players very much drive things such as prices, trade value etc.

I personally enjoy it because it brings some sense of realism to the titles & makes you feel like you truly live within these worlds.

However... With things such as this come flaws, I've met many players who try to rip others off (it usually happens to new players) and in some games I've even encountered Mafia's, extortion & clans who control the Markets.

As insane as it may sound & as unfair as it may be seeing things like this kind of adds to the... Player controlled game let's say, it's wrong when these things happen but I find these kinds of games engaging because you see various, beliefs, factions, politics
etc, I know it's a bit crazy to think that way.

These kinds of games are beasts in their own right & they offer something very different from the normal gaming experience.

Let me know your thoughts below.

    :)

I can see players taking advantage of it. Same thing that happened in Sims Online, they wrote an article about it. They called it an online mafia.

I don't mind games where the players dive the economy, however when that system is abused it can get annoying. I used to play runescape back in the day and learned quickly that trading with players has it's risks and price manipulation is definently a
    real thing online.

    Great read.

In concept the player driven economy mirrors real life. The people are allowed to determine what they wasn’t to pray for an item and go from there. However, the population vase of these games is too small to properly mirror real life. A group intending to
corrupt the states can represent a much large percent in game then they would in real life. Also, there are typically no regulatory agencies in game.

I agree, it definitely adds to the flavor of games when it us done fairly

That's really interesting. I have never actually played those games myself but I do find it interesting how certain people have found a way of living in the game so to speak. It's unfortunate that some people get hurt from it but it makes it seem like its
own little world in a sense.
