Play PC-based games on Xbox One

Some of you may know the classic franchise called Rollercoaster Tycoon, well they are coming out with a new one called Rollercoaster Tycoon world and it is for PC only which is understandable since you need a mouse to build and manage your park. I was wondering
though, why can't they have the ability to plug a mouse into the Xbox to play games with a format such as Tycoon, Sims, and Command and Conquer. I know it works to plug a USB keyboard into the Xbox One but a mouse doesn't (tried it for internet explorer).
RCT has not came out with a game in 10 years and I wish the new one they are currently developing could be played on a Next Gen Counsel.

Or it would be one service you subscribe to and lets you play your games on PC or Xbox... Service based gaming looks to be where the market is headed...

Too bad though i like the current model

choosing a platform based on other features.

Not going to happen.

I play on the platform that has the games
and features I want. If I want to play with other console owners, I play on my Xbox One. I also use my Xbox One for media and control features which no other platform has at this time.

 

PC based games that require a mouse has been done on Xbox consoles before. Myst 3 is one example. So I am sure it can happen in this era of Console gaming as well.

 

It is a fine line. I am slightly opposed to mouse and keyboard support for gameplay due to hackers trying to gain an edge in other games such as shooters. It would be high maintenance to manage these other games.

Halo Wars is a great example of a game that did a great job using controller support for RTS. Also Tom Clancy's End War

While I have never had the chance to enjoy Roller Coaster Tycoon (I am strictly a console gamer), is it really that hard to use a controller on?

 

I think Halo Wars is by far the best RTS on a console but even with that game you see the limitations playing with a controller when you compare it to games like Star Craft, AoE, etc. I think it's more the lack of keyboard rather than a mouse that impacts
the RTS and Strategy genres on the console, the keyboard allows for so many more hotkeys that it allows more depth and makes the game much easier to navigate.

Trying to use a controller and keyboard would be a nightmare so I think we're probably just stuck with the limitations if we choose to play those genres from the comfort of our recliners.

I'm not sure what hacking has to do with mouse/kb support. Console FPS's would use console (controller) hit detection and hit window so mouse /kb users would have no advantage.
