Play now, pay later

The system would be to easy for players to abuse by playing through a game and then simply not paying.

 

Not a good idea for me...my idea is if every game will have a Beta if you play the beta and help the developers you can have a discount on that game...like 5/10$...this will make people play a lot more betas.

 

Not something I think need added. The chasing up of bad debt would probably cost more than what they make from it.

Also if someone can't afford to buy a game initially, it is better money management to save up and pay later, rather than taking it debt. Also waiting a bit and it will no doubt be on sale.

 

That's what game demos are for, to try and if you like buy.

I don't see it as a feasible option. For example, you normally don't go to a movie without paying first and then pay if you like it. Such model is going to be abused.

Microsoft does give some options to try out few games via trials of game pass.

Also EA access lets you play a game for free for 10 hours helping you decide whether to buy.

 

Or maybe just support payment methods like afterpay.

Xbox ideas like others have said, it may not work out that well, and there are demos, and game pass as well.

 

While good in theory it would be wide open to abuse. A lot would play and complete the game in that month and then not pay for it. I mean you cant walk into a supermarket and get a ton of beans and pay for it later.
