    Play & Charge Kit - Cable Only


    If I get just the cable for the play and charge kit will it still work while plugged in? Or do I have to have the rechargeable battery as well, even if I don't want to use it wirelessly?

    Question regarding controllers without rechargeable battery packs

    If you don't have the charge cable from the play & charge kit, that's not possible. If you do, you don't need the chargeable pack in and can just play with the play & charge cable attached to the console if you wish.

    Xbox One charge cable for battery pack

    is the cable that connects the Xbox play & charge kit- official version (battery+cord). Is the charge cable a simple usb to micro usb cable? Thanks for help.

    Play & Charge Kit - Cable Only

    On the paperwork that comes with the Play & Charge Kit, it warns about trying to use the charging cable without a battery pack. The warning indicates that doing so could damage your controller. With that said, I have heard of people doing so without issues.
    So it can work, but if the controller is damaged, you'll have to replace it.

    controllers only work with AA batteries, or you can use the play and charge kit or plug a micro usb cable.

    if you are on about the official play n charge kit then i am using an xbox one version in the series controller, the only difference is obviously the charging cable.
