Play & Charge cable causing 360 to freeze?

So this issue started happening yesterday. At any instant moment I attempt to plug in my play and charge cord into the usb port of the 360, the console freezes. The first time it froze was during a startup of a game, and the whole screen was black. I tired
going to the dashboard with the controller, but nothing was showing, the console still wasn't responding.

Second time while I was at the dashboard, same thing occurred. The only difference was that it caused the whole screen to be filled with small purple/green pixels. So I decided to clear the system cache on the hard drive and thought it would solved the problem.

But.....just recently today, it happened again during a gameplay on the pause menu and turned the screen black.

Just fyi, my flash drive was always plugged in the opposite side(right) of the usb port while the charger was in the left.

I'm not sure if it's the charger entirely, the flash drive, the ports or some other issue I'm not seeing. Really strange, considering my charger has worked really well with the console for about 3 years, I've never seen a problem like this before.

Has anyone encountered something like this and know any other solutions I can try? I'm using an Xbox 360 4GB slim btw.

This behavior can occur if one or more of the following conditions are true:

. The battery has reached the charge limit.

. There may be an issue with the charge cable.

. There may be an issue with the battery.

Things to try:

1. Determine the part of the recharging system that may be causing the issue.

Controller

Try AA batteries or try a different Xbox 360 Rechargeable Battery Pack in the Xbox 360 Wireless Controller to verify that there is nothing wrong with the controller. If the controller works with different batteries, the controller is not causing the issue.

Charge cable

Try a different Xbox 360 Play and Charge cable to charge the battery. If the battery charges correctly with a different charge cable, the original charge cable is faulty.

Rechargeable battery

a. Use a cotton swab and some alcohol to clean the four gold contacts on the Xbox 360 Rechargeable Battery Pack and on the Xbox 360 Wireless Controller.

b. Try a different Xbox 360 Rechargeable Battery Pack with the charge cable. If the second battery charges correctly, the original battery is faulty.

Regarding your first question you should check your NAT settings and make sure they are open
