    Play Anywhere - Windows Sign-in Issues


    Hey there Semetta.

    After taking a look into this myself, I found that you first need to make sure that you have MSA1 selected as your profile within the Microsoft Store. If you are signed in with MSA2, it directs you to sign in with that account while starting up the game,
    possibly resulting in the loop you're experiencing. I have found that even while signed into MSA1, the loop can still occur, but after multiple attempts to sign-in it eventually let me through.

    Obviously the sign-in loop isn't ideal, but if you're able to try and force it through, let me know if there is any change. Unfortunately as I mentioned before, the best remedy is having a Windows 10 sign-in that is attached to MSA 1.

    Also, have you reached out to Windows support in regards to this issue? While you are having trouble playing an Xbox Play Anywhere Title, this particular issue appears to be on the sign-in side of Windows 10. Windows support may be able to help you further
    in terms of troubleshooting the OS.

    Thanks again for the suggestions but unfortunately, I have had MSA1 selected as my Store sign in the entire time (I've logged it out and in many, many times, reset the password etc. too). I've tried to get past the sign in loop as you have but again unfortunately,
    after 25 times of selecting MSA1 and 25 times of just clicking close on the dialogue box and Let's Play (in ReCore as Forza will not even give me a dialogue box or sign-in prompt), I am still unable to pass the loop.

    Generating and maintaining a new sign (Windows profile) on every device I use just to work around this fault is not a viable option for me nor would I consider it the correct resolution.

    As I detailed above, I've tried to "reach out" to support but I've been stonewalled at every turn by automated messages telling me I have to pay for Windows technical support which is wholly unacceptable to me given the nature of this issue. If you're able
    to supply me with a method of talking to somebody within Windows technical support that actually works then please do let me know.

    Okay, another simple question to make sure the basics are covered - when you're signing into the game, are you connected to the Internet? You would need to be for this to work.

    I realise you probably are, and it'll seem an unnecessarily basic question, but I want to be certain before trying anything else.

    Hey there Semetta!

    Really sorry to hear about the trouble you're having with using a second MSA. Looks like Maxen has provided some solid steps so far. To check, do you possibly have 2-step verification enabled on your account? If so, you may need to create an app-specific
    password to sign in with on Windows 10 through that particular sign-in screen (an app specific password isn't required if that MSA is being used to sign into Windows 10)

    You can check for 2-step verification under Security on
    account.microsoft.com
    .

    If you're still having trouble, unfortunately we generally don't recommend using two separate MSAs between signing in on Windows 10 and using apps. I understand it isn't ideal for you, but you may want to switch your login to a local account, and then from
    there attach MSA 1 as your general login. This should allow you to skip that sign-in window and get straight into playing your games. When purchasing from the Store, we do acknowledge that users should make sure they are purchasing from the account that they
    use on both their Xbox and on Windows 10.
