Play anywhere overwritten my save

Thanks for the update. If you've played the Xbox Play Anywhere version of the game online using an Xbox One console with the same account, the save games are automatically stored on the Xbox One cloud. However, if the version of the game you've used on the
Xbox One console is not the XPA version, the progress won't be carried over. The reason behind this is to allow new progress for the Xbox Play Anywhere games. See

There are several factors that we have to consider when troubleshooting issues syncing gamerscore and achievements earned while playing Xbox Play Anywhere games. Refer to the list below for more information:

• Make sure you're using the same Microsoft account on Xbox One and Windows 10.
• You've played the game online on both devices.
• You're using the Xbox Play Anywhere version of the game on both devices.

To verify if you're using the same profile, kindly sign in to the Xbox app on Windows 10 and at the upper left corner check if the gamertag is the same with your Xbox One gamertag.

Also, we recommend checking the progress of your achievements online to verify if the console you've used to play the game has synchronized with Xbox Live. Here are the steps:

1. Sign in at Xbox.com.
2. Select your profile icon in the upper-right corner, and then select Profile.
   
3. Tap or select Achievements.
4. Select the title of the achievement you're trying to unlock.
5. If the achievement appears under Achievements, it's already unlocked.

Thanks for coming back to me. This isn't an issue with gamer score or achievements but with the save that is synced between windows 10 and xbox.

I can confirm that both the xbox and windows 10 are using the same sign in, I'm using the same play anywhere version of the game and the achievements are on my account.

This issue is that the save with my progress from the xbox has been overwritten by a brand new save from windows 10 loosing my progress to this point. I'm trying to find out 2 things:

1. Is there a way to recover my lost save?

2. Is it safe to play other play anywhere titles with out loosing my progress?

The game now syncs fine between xbox and windows 10 but I would like to get my old save back if possible.

when loading a play anywhere game on either pc or xbox it will sync the save, if this was cancelled which is easy to do it will not sync and will upload a new save, there is no way to recover an overwritten save.

I see. Since the game is an Xbox Play Anywhere, it uses the same cloud saves for PC and Xbox version. There's a possiblity that your game progress on cloud will be overwritten if you chose to play the local save from your PC. What you have on the cloud will be resynced to PC and Xbox platform.
