Play Anywhere only on digital downloads

I just bought GOW4 on disc just for not having to download 60GB (twice).

I did'nt realize that the Play Anywhere feature was only available for digital downloads. Now i cannot have a free copy to play the game on PC, but have to buy it again.

I think that is not fair to people who buy games in a regular store and pay just as much as for digital download or even more.

The games are registered on Xbox One and so they would be recognized by your PC too, as long as one has the same login info.

Dear Microsoft: Please fix this injustice and let people chose wether they want a digital copy or a disc!

Sorry to hear you're upset. However, the programming required to be able to play the game on both Xbox and PC for a disc based version of the game is too much to fit on one disc. That means that they would need to put two separate discs with two separate
versions of the game in the packaging and could raise the price of the product at the store.

I did not mean to say they should put both versions on the disc. I meant to say: If i buy a disc rather than digital download and the game shows up in my XBOX account,

then why am i not able to download the PC version as well? No programming required at all! Same right for every customer, right? I did buy the game. So why am i not entitled to have the PC version as well?

Play anywhere is digital only as your Xbox disks are only xbox compatible they aren't exe or Windows programs

When you get an digital play anywhere title you download it based on your platform whenever it's xbox for Windows 10 or xbox

If you bought one of these games digitally, you can download the games from the Windows 10 Store.
