Play Anywhere on PC/Xbox One

If I buy a Play Anywhere (Forza Horizon 3, Sea of Thieves) on my Xbox One (which isn't 4k) and then download it on my 4k compatible PC, will the game be playable in 4k?

Hi, for Xbox Play Anywhere titles, they are only available on PC and Xbox One. Forza Horizon 3 is also only available on Xbox One and not Xbox 360.

Do I need a Xbox One to play ¨Xbox Play Anywhere¨ games on PC.

So I don't have a Xbox one and I want to play Sea of Thieves on PC when it comes out. So I have this question, do I need a Xbox One to play ¨Xbox Play Anywhere¨ Games on PC? I couldn't find an answer for this anywhere If someone know, thank you

Hello. yes that will play fine in 4k. As long as you own the game you can play it in 4k on PC or if you get and Xbox One X.

On Play anywhere titles, it does not matter on which platform you buy the game, but on which platform you run it.

What particular games are you talking about?

There are "Xbox Play Anywhere" titles, which are released both on Xbox One and PC. So if you buy it once on Xbox One or PC, you can play it on both.

However, not all Xbox games are "Play Anywhere" titles. A list of
Play Anywhere games that work both on Xbox and Windows 10 PC is here.

If it's not a Play Anywhere title, you won't be able to play that Xbox game on your PC. And Play Anywhere also only works as a download. You can't use the Xbox disc on your PC to play the game.

As for compatibility with modern Joysticks: As long as the game supports DirectInput (which almost all modern games use), you should be good.

Thank you for reaching out to the Forums with this question. In order to play these Xbox One games on the PC they must be a "Play Anywhere" title. When they are labeled as Play Anywhere games this means that you are able to play them on both the Xbox One
and a Windows 10 PC
