    Play and Charge Kit?


    Hi All

    So today I noticed my controller battery was low even though I have it plugged in 24/7. I noticed that the cable only charged the controller when bent towards the back of the controller really hard. I looked it up and after reading around came to the conclusion
    the cable was the problem and so I went out and bought a new P&C Kit - same problem. Do you think the Micro USB slot on the controller is the problem? Any ideas greatly appreciated - Thanks!

    Charge and play

    Dear Xbox, please fix the issue with the charge and play cord connection. You can't move or it disconnects. I hope the new controller from the design lab have improved this and you definitely better fix it before Scorpion comes out or I won't purchase it!

    Play and charge kit, first charge

    Hi

    The battery will have some charge in it so it can be used straight away however with my official play and charge kit I decided to charge it, I have had my kit for three years and it is still going great.

    Micro USB ports can get worn out and the connection becomes unreliable. If a stable connection requires additional pressure and/or a certain angle to connect to the port, something is obviously worn out.

    Do you have other Micro USB cables, like for an Android phone or a computer peripheral? Give those a try and see what happens. If you get the same result, the controller USB port could very well be worn out.

    If that is indeed the case, then if your controller is still under warranty (90 days from purchase), you can attempt to get it repaired/replaced through Microsoft. If not, you are left with these few options:

    • Deal with disposable AA's.
    • Go for third-party rechargeables, like rechargeable AA's or Nyko battery packs (those have a Micro USB port directly on the battery pack).
    • Repair the controller yourself if you have some fine soldering skills (at your own risk)
    • Ultimately buy a new controller.

    Yeah I tried both the other P&C Kit and the short Micro USB - USB cable - both require extra pressure to work correctly. Unfortunately I've had the controller for 93 days so I'm quite unlucky there. Thanks for the reply mate

    Not via a play and charge kit. The play and charge kit simply charges the gamepad it doesn't turn it into a wired controller.
