play and charge kit rechargeable battery for xbox one controller

The rechargeable battery pack in my play & charge kit has died - this after 4 months of moderate daily play. I can't find a site that sells just a replacement battery, only the entire kit. At this rate I will need to buy a new kit 3-4 times a year. Does
anyone know if it's possible to buy just the battery? I found an Insignia pack at Best Buy for their recharging kit, but don't know if it will work for the Microsoft kit. People have asked and answered that question on Best Buy's site, but the answers are
not consistent. I don't know if it's worth replacing the whole kit multiple times per year, or if going back to regular AA batteries is more economical. Thanks for you help.

    :)

    1.2V vs 1.5V

If you are looking for a rechargeable battery for your controller I would recommend getting an official play and charge kit.

I have been using the official Xbox One play and charge kit for quite a number of years and it's still holding its charge and working great, additionally I have just checked my play and charge kit and it says it's a 3V battery.

Why do Xbox wireless controllers still require batteries?

But the rechargeable battery is my biggest issue with my PS4 controller is that it feels like I'm always charging controller where my Xbox One controller with play and charge kit attached lasts for ages between charges.

In addition to this if my play and charge battery dies I can just buy a new battery and not have to buy a complete new controller.

It should last longer than that I play daily and still have the same battery that I bought on day one which was November 2013

i've had mine since launch and using it daily moderate to heavy, and still seems to work quite well, how do you know it is completely dead? have you tried cleaning the contacts, or changing the USB cable, or outlet?

if you're concerned about having to buy a new kit every few months, just get some rechargeable batteries.

You guys are all lucky, mine lasted about a month, the 360 ones weren't much better either. Grab 4 rechargeable batteries and charger, it will probably be cheaper to.

play and charge kit rechargeable battery for xbox one controller

Got my play & charge kit on day one as well & it gets used quite a bit every day & it's still working fine.

My 2 360 ones lasted ages.

Maybe your next kit will last longer. I have 2 controllers and 2 battery packs since launch and both still work. I wouldn't be too worried about buying another kit. But you just never know.

  12. Never used a play and charge kit myself, but have/still use rechargable AA batteries in both my 360 and Xbox One.

I bought them at Wallyworld for less than 20 bucks some 5 years ago and even though 5 years in use, they haven't let me down yet. I recharge them when the indicator reads about half on the X1, or less than 3 bars on the 360.

Energizer or Duracell rechargables are the best, but the best charger by far is Rayovac charger, it takes a little longer to charge them on the Rayo but they don't get hot like they do the Energizer/Duracell chargers. Also the battery tabs on the Rayo Charger
are solid as compaired to Dura/Energizer and will not bend.

play and charge kit rechargeable battery for xbox one controller

I've used energizers since the X1 battery pack prematurely died. With my son also playing games alot, we have 8 batteries between us, then we always have 2 lots charged for a quick change over.

Like i say, I don't know if we are unlucky or you guys are lucky. I just found the play and charge kits very unreliable and quite pricey for what they are.

Always just use rechargeable batteries much in the style of Electro, last over a week on one charge being used every day for a few hours and more on weekends. Two sets so never without a charged backup...
