Play and charge kit loud buzzing

I just bought the play and charge kit because I don't really want to keep buying batteries until a wired controller is released. I am now unsure on if I'll even use it, because when I'm using my headset and have it plugged in it makes a horrible buzzing
noise that everyone can hear. Plus it's unbearably loud, to the point where it is nearly louder than my voice through the mic.

I know the 360 play and charge had a buzzing problem but it was nowhere near as bad as this, plus my mate has one with the same headset as me and when he uses his there is no noise at all. I am thinking it is my controller since I don't have a normal Xbox
One controller I have the Forza edition, but that's just me looking for excuses I think.

I just don't understand how I have an extremely loud buzzing sound through my headset when my mate has nothing and it infuriates me because the main reason I bought it was because there was no buzz.

If it's any help my headset is the Turtle Beach PX22.

Headset static buzz

In some cases when your control is being charged via the "Play & Charge Kit" the controller can emit a buzzing sound. Try taking the Play & Charge Kit out of the control to see if the buzzing stops.

 

Problem with brand new...

Are you using a wired controller or a play and charge kit. I only get the buzzing noise when using one of those two

 

The solution Turtle Beach offered for the same problem on 360 is:
charge the controller when you're not using the headset. [Clicky]

My advice, since you said you're waiting on a wired controller, is to just invest in a

long, cheap, micro-USB cable, and play wired, with no batteries and just the standard cover on the controller. S'lighter and feels nice. =)

 

I will continue to charge the controller while not talking to anyone but I find it weird that my mate has no problem with the play and charge at all. Might have to try and get a normal controller and see if that is the problem. Hopefully they release a wired
controller soon.

Sounds like a plan. Always good to have a backup and spare at any rate. Before you do though, it just occured to me, have you tried

updating the firmware of your Xbox One controller? [Clicky]

Maybe it's just a problem with outdated firm/software, and your mate's is all up-to-date, so he isn't having the same issues. =)

 

Energizer rechargeable batteries ..... $15.00 for the set, charge lasts between 20-30 hours.

Update controller firmware.
