Play and Charge Kit cable broken

Hi all,

I've had the official Play and Charge kit for my Xbox One for a couple years and never once had a problem. The cable is always kept stored away when I'm not using it and in great condition with no damage. Last night I was watching something on Netflix while
my controller charged and got an error saying the battery had run out. The little orange LED on the cable wasn't lit up and it wasn't working at all.

I've since tried using a different micro USB cable with the controller and it charges with no problem so it's definitely the PAC cable that's the problem. I also noticed if I connect it up and move the end with the LED slightly to the left and right the
LED flickers on and off. I've got no idea why it's suddenly stopped working, especially since it was working fine earlier and just stopped while the controller wasn't moving or being used.

I'm guessing that it's out of warranty now but since it's clearly faulty and not broken from misuse is there any way that Microsoft could replace the cable?

Yet ANOTHER Question.

My brother bought the Nyco battery charger and docking kit - I hate it. I prefer the micro-USB cable from the play and charge kit and the Nyco batteries aren't compatible with the cable.

Have you tried the cable in a other controller to make sure its the cable and not the controller. Just incase the cable is not the issue.
