Plants Vs Zombies GW2 open beta

It was there at 6pm. Just had to search for it. Downloaded but not played yet. Stoopid work.........................

 

Seems ok, plays as it always has. New characters seem fun. Not sure if you can upgrade your characters yet though.

 

I love the direction they are taking this game. My kids and I couldn't put this thing down last night.

There are now quests (not in the beta) where Crazy Dave assigns tasks for special unlocks.

You now level up with XP rather than unlocking challenges in GW1. The new characters and the variants of the old ones are great. Did anyone use the Vampire Sunflower last night?

The Backyard Battleground is awesome. The maps for the 2 game modes last night (Suburbination and G&G) are large and challenging with multiple paths to objectives.

I only beef i had with the game was that there was no way to quit to the main menu. Am I missing something or is the garden hub the main menu?

It's going to be a fun weekend!

I tried the beta a little but wanted to play with the wife. So today we try to play. Apparently, the Xbox Live account was linked to an origin account with email address she does not have, a Hotmail, but trying to recover a password says the account does
not even exist. She had her Live account on an old email account, yahoo, before changing it to gmail. And her origin account is actually on the yahoo account. So, I tried setting up a new origin since nothing was on the old origin (yahoo linked) anyway
and adding the Live account. I get the message that the account is already linked.

The Hotmail account is not ours and trying to recover the password just gives the message that the account does not exist (not sure how it is linked to origin or why Live was not linked to the correct origin to begin with). I did a search and apparently
you can call an EA Advisor. I go through that and they call us. They tell us that we need to download the Fifa 16 demo and play online. Cannot get online with the demo and have played the 5 minutes they ask for several times.

Basically it will not let her play EA games. They are saying we need to access the Hotmail account, which we have informed them tells us it does not exist when we click forgot password, and log into this origin account. Well, they give us a temporary password
over the phone and have us log in to that Origin account. From there, we went and put in security features with text. Problem is this. The account has a false birthdate, if it was her account, but it does have this Hotmail. Oddly, it shows up that the
account was created today. And they still cannot unlink it. She can, however, link her PSN and play. Terrible setup for EA really and cost them a few sales as I planned on buying enough copies to play with my wife and sons. Really has me considering any
EA purchases going forward.

 

Now they are telling her to download Fifa 15 demo and try that. Talk about dumb. Basically we have to access an email that does not exist and still they probably cannot do anything. This basically forces us to buy the PlayStation version if we want to
play the game together but I am not going to do that as who is to say EA will not have a problem with that.

 

Have you thought of making a new account and try to link that to your xbox account?

 

Yeah, tried that. Just says account already linked. The origin account that we created and linked in 2009 is no longer linked. Apparently an account that was created in 2010 without any information and wrong birth date is linked. Since we get the message
that the Hotmail account does not exist when trying to recover password EA says they cannot unlink them. They did however, get us into this bogus account by providing us a temporary password and have us set up account security and a name that will show on
the account when it is used. None of that was ever set up. Not sure how it could have ever worked. But we have talked to support 7 times now and they are saying they cannot unlink it.

 

I have tried the beta a little. Seemed like it would be fun with friends.

Just to update my issues with EA and my wife's account I was able to final change the emails associated with the accounts. She called back to get her Live account linked to the correct account. Now, none of the EA/Origin accounts work. And they say call
MS to be sure her gmail is the email linked to her MS account. It is because that is the account she uses to sign in with.

 

That is ridiculus, I hope you can get everything fixed in due time before the beta is over on your wifes side.

 

Is anyone else having trouble with Plants Vs Zombies GW2 Beta downloading EXTREMELY slow? Most of our other games have NEVER downloaded this slow.

 

Very impressed with this, loved the first game and this is just what i was hoping for, have now preordered it

 

I just played the beta for the 1st time last night and had an absolute blast - I love all the new characters (except maybe the rose - she's just weird, IMO). It was so much fun, that when I finished I jumped right onto the orginal PvZ:GW, which I haven't
played in a long while, and kicked some serious butt with it last evening (I earned the vanquisher achievement)!

I love how it said your unlocks from the previous game carry over - that was another reason for me to hop back onto the original; I haven't unlocked everything yet (and I'm a long ways off to it would seem).

I'm not quite sure if this sequel will be a pre-order for me (although the pre-order content certainly is enticing - that's for sure!), but it's a definite contender for a purchase - that much I know.

If anyone wants to play some OG PvZ:GW, let me know - I'd be happy to do it (party issues aside)!

 

I will start by saying EA has terrible security and their support does not seem like the brightest bunch. They gave me access to the account that my wife's Live was attached to without the password and with no security set for that by providing us with
a password to get in and then set it all up. Still could not verify the email since it really does not exist. But, by having access and a security question we could change the email. We did this and changed the email to something we had access to. I changed
the email on my wife's origin account, the valid one, to the email that her Live account is on. So, we call back and they kindly say they will remove the Live account from the other account since we now have access. Nope. They go in to the accounts and
change the emails instead. So now, the bogus account has the same email as her Live account and we cannot change it (give an error of wait a few minutes and has since they changed it) or change the birthdate or any of the information. The password is very
generic and simple and very unsafe. They will NOT change it, allow a reset, or anything. But she could play GW2 beta. Basically her Live account is attached to the same bogus account, now with her valid email, and a simplistic password that nobody in their
right mind would use.

Anyway, on to GW2. We did have a blast playing it. My youngest son loves running around on it with me as well. And this looks like a purchase if we can get the EA thing fixed.

Of note (sorry back on the EA thing), all the reps actually asked if she had PSN (she does) and said that we should consider that instead as it is a better option anyway. No, not just one. But 5 different reps. And that is not the issue at all. We could
do that but do not want to do that first. And second, what if PSN has somehow been linked to the bogus account as well.

I have an old email tied to my origin account too but don't really wanna mess around with it if that same crap happens. Hope it all gets sorted. I have been enjoying the beta too!
