    Hi, I am planning to buy a gaming console but I hesitate. I had the Original very first XBOX console and since then I never had another console again. I am a PC gamer, but I want to buy a new Console so my kids can play on it. So, I have in doubt regarding
    certain questions.

    I've been doing some research and I see that the PS Store and Nintendo, both have free-to-play games just as those we can get in Epics or Steam in PC, for instance. But, somehow I don't see the same thing for Xbox. It seems we have to subscribe for some
    kind of service to have access to free-to-play games. Is that true?

    Also, I have a very important question. I have Halo combat Evolved and Halo 2 in disc since the time I purchased the games several years ago. If I want to play them in the new Xbox (X or S) console, will I need to buy them again? Can I have the remastered
    ones for free?

    These are questions and answers that will make me decide which new Console 2020 I should buy.

    It should be noted that halo infinite multiplayer is expected to be free but no more info was give other then its delayed

    Gold is required to play online on the Xbox. So even if it's a free-to-play game, you still need Gold to play online.

    As far as the games you have on Disc, you would not get the remastered ones for free, but if they are backwards compatible you can use the discs to play on the Series X (https://www.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/backward-compatibility?xr=shellnav)
    The Series S will not have a disc drive so backwards compatible discs will not work and the games would have to be purchased digitally.

    The point is I have 3 xbox 360 consoles I'm not going to buy 3 Xbox one consoles just to get a family plan. It is ridiculous they dropped the family plan for xbox 360.
