Netflix: No UHD on XBOX One S

I can verify this issue...Netflix UHD does not work on Xbox One S. I have a Vizio M55-D0 with the latest firmware enabling HD10 support. My TV is now recognized by the One S video settings as 4K HDR capable. I am able to enable HDR support and it works beautifully
with the Blu-Ray app (Mad Max 4K Blu Ray playing 4K, 24fps, HDR as verified by the Vizio settings app). However when I start Netflix, the screen flashes, colors mute, and video fails to switch to HDR or 24fps. Netflix app is clearly broken right now for HDR.
If I switch HDR off on the One S, Netflix app is fine, plays 4K correctly, colors are fine obviously no HDR.

My LG Monitor supports 1440p @ 120 hz but xbox series x wont let me do it . Caps it at 1080 120

This worked on a xbox one s connected to a LG 32GN600

    1. Goto Settings/General/Tv & Display options, under Advanced select Video modes and Uncheck everything.

    2. Under Advanced select Video fidelity & overscan, Set Display Overrides to Auto-detect, 1440p 120hz will not be accepted with anything but the following -->Set Video fidelity Color depth to 24 bits per pixil (8 bit).

    3. Set Resolution to 1440p, set Refresh Rate to 120hz, it worked for me.

After 1440p 120hz was accepted, the following could be changed:

Video fidelity, Color depth, 30 bits per pixil

Video modes, Allow variable refresh rate. (monitor confirmed)

    Video modes, Allow HDR10

Video modes, Allow 4K. (In Halo Inf, HDR only worked with this checked, the monitor reported a 4K 60hz signal with HDR when playing, after exiting Halo the signal returned to 1440p 120hz.)

Note: A new Resolution 4K UHD, 60hz was added to the dropdown lists Only after doing steps 1,2,3 above (in that order) and checking Allow 4K. This option works on this monitor. Xbox upscales to 4k and the monitor downscales to 1440p.

    Supported Hdmi Pc 1440p 120hz timings are HF183khz, VF120hz, P+/+

Epson 5040UB : Your TV setup doesn't support HDR10 for gaming. Games won't be shown in HDR

Yep. I think there will be a lot of dissapointed people when they find out their 4K HDR TV won't play Xbox One 4K games because they don't have a full 18Gig HDMI pipe.

The requirement from the X to have 4K @60 and 30 Bits just to play a 4K game seems off. I can see where the bandwidth requirement would be there for 4K @60 with HDR, but I'd like to play the game in either 4K without HDR or 1080P with HDR but the current
setup on the X (and S) will not let you do this.

Odd thing is that I played Horizons:Zero Dawn on my PS4 Pro and the first thing it did was tell me I could have either 4K or HDR but not both. I chose HDR and the game looks fantastic. I can't believe the XBOX One X won't do this.

So, if you have a display that does 4K@ 24 with HDR then the XBOX One X is just a nice game machine that will play videos in HDR for you but none of the UHD features are available to you for gaming.

Microsoft, surely you can change this and allow HDR in 1080P?

4k HDR resolution option not allowed on XBox One S

Getting Started: Three Things You’ll Need to Experience 4K

Before you can experience 4K and HDR games and video, you’ll need to make sure you’re set up properly and have the right equipment.

    1. You’ll need a 4K capable device

Good news, the Xbox One S is 4K Ultra HD capable

    2. You’ll need a 4K TV

To check if you have a 4K TV, you can consult the packaging or manual for your TV. Different manufacturers have different names, but here are somethings to look for:

    • Commonly used names for 4K: 4K**** Ultra HD deep color
To check your TV’s 4K and HDR capabilities, with your Xbox One S connected and on, double-tap the Xbox button on the controller to open the guide. Choose Settings > All settings > Display & sound, then choose
Advanced video settings > 4K TV details.

If your system should support 4K and HDR but it isn’t working (for example, you can’t select the 4K UHD resolution, 4K features aren’t supported in the 4K TV details screen, 4K content won’t play, or you’re seeing video quality problems), click

    here
    for some help.

If you are using a monitor, you’ll also need to check if it is compatible.
