Ping variation

Ping isn't a thing you can simply "resolve" with a setting.

Let's make an analogy to explain what Ping actually does.

Imagine the internet being the public road network, with highways, country roads and all that stuff.

Pinging something is the equivalent of asking a racecar driver to drive to a destination and back, while you measure the time it takes the driver to get there.

So if you tell the driver to drive to the store down the road, and come back, it might take the driver just a few seconds.

However, when you're in Brazil, and you ask the driver to go to the Eiffel Tower in France, he'll drive out of your town to the next airport, load the car in a plane, fly to Paris, leave the airport, weave through the heavy traffic in Paris, until he gets
to the Eiffel Tower, and then heads back to the airport, flies back to Brazil, speeds down the highways, then has to slow down on the regular roads to your home town, and finally arrives back at your house, a few days later.

Even though it's the same car, same driver etc., the Ping measurement to your store around the corner took a few seconds, while the Ping measurement to the Eiffel Tower took several days.

And it's similar to your ping issue:

Your ISP is taking the request to go to Seattle, and has a high bandwidth connection to the US, where high bandwidth connections are more common. Imagine your racecar being able to speed down highway after highway until he gets to the destination.

Whereas when you ping the datacenter in Brazil, they don't have the high bandwidth connections, and the racecar has to take rural roads with a lot of traffic and has to slow down.

So it's not a setting which influences which roads your car can take to the ping destination. If there are only slow connections to the ping destination, there is no way to really speed things up.

Ping varies depending on what game you are in and the other players that are playing in that game, along with their internet connections and speed. It may also depend on the server that you are connected too and the status of xbox live in general. Have
you tried uplugging your router for 30 seconds then reconnecting it too see if that solves your problem?

im trying to figure out is if MS or my ISP that controls this to reach them and hope they can help me out.

Few games that i know display which data center im connected to, but if that was the case the network stattistics in my console would show a lower latency but it shows a 180 latency. i'm having this issue for 2 years now, reggarding gears i read in the
forums that is MS who gives the data centers and TC has no

And another thing is that i made a tracert test from my pc given the fact all my internet is driven trough the same channel and i didnt find any redirectiong to brazil... i live in colombia and all internet traffic from colombia is taken to the US and then
to the destination server. this takes me to the hypotesis that MS servers are redirecting me trough brazil instead of EAST US.

It may be because you are connected too a different server which mire players and games are played on, giving a higher ping rating. Is there a way you can manually connect too a different server with less latency? If so, I would suggest that you do this
as it will improve your gameplay? Also, gears of war 5 is an amazing game but it was released with loads of bugs and glitches that may affect the gameplay in multiplayer, if the problem continues I also suggest reporting this too the producer of the game so
that they can fix this issue for the future. Hope it gets resolved soon.

for the last 2 years, yes i've unpluged my modem, the console is wired directly to it, ports are open, NAT is open, but why am i getting 180 latency in the console statistics test?, is like my console gets redirected to brazil servers but how can i fix that?
ive talk to my ISP they say is not them, also called xbox support they have no idea what im talking about.
