    Ping is way too high Xbox One X


    I'm looking for some help with this issue. I have been getting ping spikes during games which I know others have gotten as well but sometimes my ping is way too high for the whole game. My normal ping is 64ms but then suddenly one match I'll get anywhere
    from 130-250ms ping sustained. This is only happening on xbox and I have tested it on PC but haven't seen the same issue.

    Are the servers we use for overwatch the same blizzard servers as PC users or are the servers Xbox servers? Blizzard seems to not be concerned about console players and only focusing on PC issues but alot of people say this started after the last patch.

    Anyone else having the same issues and can we get some help please? I can connect to TAIWAN and get a lower ping than I get in Overwatch matches sometimes which is ridiculous!

    Xbox one x lag issues, server connection issues

    Same here. For several days I have been having issues with about half the matches I play on overwatch for the xbox one x. I am getting way higher than normal pings causing issues during games.

    FIX THE LAG PROBLEM !!!

    Being the guy with a high ping is way worse than playing against a guy with high ping.

    64 ms is a little high to begin with. Are you connected via ethernet cable or wireless? If you're wireless can you try ethernet to see if that helps? You could also try power cycling the modem by unplugging it for 10 seconds to see if that helps.

    The reason it is 64ms is cause the server I am connected to is in the state is WA and I'm in FL. I've confirmed that the Xbox live servers are WA and the blizzard servers are in CA. Couldn't possibly get further away from me and still be in the US. I've
    played overwatch on PC plugged in via cable and it's 64 ms steady. The wireless isn't changing that. I've also power cycled everything probably close to 20 times in the past few days and it hasn't helped.

    I don't understand why there are no east coast servers to connect to with either blizzard or Xbox. That would be part of the problem I think.

    Perhaps you could suggest in the Battlenet forums that more servers should be added?

    Question about speeds needed for smooth multiplayer experience.

    Your speeds are fine. That ping is rather high, however I wouldn't go with what it says here. Go to www.speedtest.net and see what your results are here.

    The ping is a time measured in milliseconds a chunk of data goes back and forth between your device and the server being pinged. I'm not sure what server/s Xbox One uses to test a ping. If the server is in the U.S and you are in Europe for example, the
    ping will always be high, no matter how fast your connection speed is. Same would be true the other way around. A high ping would also be the case if you were in New York and the Server was in Los Angeles.
