How can I reset a PIN that doesnt exist without going through windows hello?

Hello, Toty. Thanks for reaching out! My name is Lucas. I'm an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft user just like you. I'll be happy to assist you today.

This Microsoft account does not have an account on this computer? Windows Hello usually is computer specific. Please try to deactivate the Windows Hello PIN for the account that is signed into the computer or use the PIN for the current signed in computer account.

    - Go to Start > Settings > Accounts > Input options.

    - Scroll down to the option "Require Windows Hello Sign In for Microsoft Accounts" and set it to disabled.

    - On the Windows Hello PIN (above), click on remove. This will remove any PIN saved on Windows Hello for the account.

    - If it asks for a password, confirm your Microsoft account password.

    - Restart your computer.

Feel free to ask back any questions and please let me know how it goes.

To change your sign-in preferences, such as requiring a password when signing in, follow the steps below.
Press the Xbox  button to open the dashboard.
Select Profile & System > Settings.
Under Account, select Sign in, security & PIN.
Select Change my sign-in and security preferences.
Choose one of the following options:
Do it fast, as if by magic: automatic entry, no need for a password or PIN.
Barrier-free: No password or PIN required to sign in, change settings, or make purchases.
Verify it's me: A PIN is required to sign in.
Ask for my PIN: A PIN is required to sign in, change settings, or make purchases.
Lock: Your Microsoft account password is required for almost everything.
Customize: Select this option to customize which actions require a password or PIN.

Hope I helped and see you soon

Issues with Microsoft Store and a "PIN"

Hello, APersonAnonymous. Thanks for reaching out! My name is Lucas. I'm an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft user just like you. I'll be happy to assist you today.

I would say that's probably the computer account PIN. The same you use to sign in to your computer. You can try to use this PIN or you can deactivate it:

    - Go to Start > Settings > Accounts > Input options.
    - Scroll down to the option "Require Windows Hello Sign In for Microsoft Accounts" and set it to disabled.
    - On the Windows Hello PIN (above), click on remove. This will remove any PIN saved on Windows Hello for the account.
    - If it asks for a password, confirm your Microsoft account password.
    - Restart your computer.

Please let me know how it goes.

    Logging in

    Hey Mark!

Nice to meet you! I'm Darhyl, an Independent Advisor. I'm sorry you are experiencing this. I am here to help.

You can manage your sign-in preferences on your console, here's how:

Press the Xbox button  to open the guide.

Select Profile & system > Settings.

Under Account, select Sign-in, security & PIN.

Select Change my sign-in & security preferences.

Choose one of the following options:

Make it fast, make it magic: Automatic sign-in with no password or PIN required.

No barriers: No password or PIN is required to sign in, change settings, or make purchases.

Check that it's me: A PIN is required to sign in.

Ask for my PIN: A PIN is required to sign in, change settings, or make purchases.

Lock it down: Your Microsoft account password is required for almost everything.

Customize: Select this option to customize which actions require a password or PIN.

I would highly recommend you set it as "No barriers" for a less hassle way of accessing your console.

You can also enable/disable your 2-step verification feature on your account on the web browser:

    account.microsoft.com > Security > then 2-step verification codes

Thank you for your time. I hope you have a great day!

Are you trying to sign in on Xbox (console) or on the Xbox app, on the computer?

If it is on the computer, please follow the steps below to remove the PIN:

    - Go to Start > Settings > Accounts > Input options.

    - Scroll down to the option "Require Windows Hello Sign In for Microsoft Accounts" and set it to disabled.

    - On the Windows Hello PIN (above), click on remove. This will remove any PIN saved on Windows Hello for the account.

    - If it asks for a password, confirm your Microsoft account password.

    - Restart your computer.

Let me know how it goes. If it is on the console, just tell me so we can figure this out.
