Pin fell inside top vent

I know, what are the odds. A pin ( the ones that come stuck in some button up shirts when you buy them) fell through the top vent of my console and is now inside. Unsure if I trust turning on the console with it inside. Best course of action to proceed?

I got the glossy 360 slim when it first came out and left a microfiber cloth on top of the console completly blocking the vent then fell asleep on the couch and ended up turning it on with my but.

That console lasted 6 months.

Very Hot Top Vent!

Heres a little trick I started doing last gen up till now. take four 2 liter bottle caps, and prop them under the four corners of your unit. Keeps it nice and cool with a great air flow underneath the system.

You could try removing any disc from the machine and unplugging the console.

Then flip the console upside down and see if you can gently move the console to the point that the pin falls back out of the vent.

Don't shake the machine but gently rock the console side to side to try and get the pin to come back out again.

Hope it works for you, that is just plain unlucky to have happened.

@genchy do you mean right hand side vent? I'm talking about the vent that's on top of the XBOX!!

The vent is on top on right handside the side powerbutton is on.. I'm not talking about side vents or anything.

@goatsnatcher, yes I tried turning it upside down even tried lightly tapping it, I can't exactly see how sim card is stuck with out removing vent.

Hi, the fan inside the console spins slowly in Instant on mode, maybe that's what you're hearing. If you listen to the console where the vents are on the top you'll hear it for sure. You shouldn't hear any loud noise coming from the power supply though.

Arghhh! Same problem ayyehh.

Mine is horisontal.

The main vent is 30cm away from the table top and i have my headset on one side inside the plastic and on the other all my games and remotes.

Would it maybe fix it if i moved the headset and the games and remotes?
