Pilot program purchase for XSX using Microsoft rewards?

Since you registered into the program as a US Microsoft member, we created a US Rewards Account for you. Only purchases made in your Rewards Account's regional currency is eligible for Rewards. Since your purchases were not made in USD, they were not eligible
for Rewards.

Unfortunately the rewards do expire I believe. Just for future reference, if you use your points to purchase money for your account that money will expire in 3 months or something like that.

That's for the Microsoft Rewards program, not the Xbox Rewards program.

Gamertag changes cost $10 (US), but is dependent on what region you are in.

If you're asking how many Microsoft Reward (formerly Bing Reward) points need to be earned and then redeemed for a gift card within the program to then purchase the change, you're looking at 9,300-10,000 currently in the US (depending on what level you are
at within the Microsoft Rewards program).

The Xbox Live Reward program only rewards users for making purchases, and when they make purchases it takes at least 1 cycle to receive rewards. If your friend only joined yesterday he was not rewarded from the Xbox Live Program. He could have received it
from the Microsoft/Bing Reward program (separate) or from Sales/Promotions (separate).

Unfortunately, our program does not have any offers running that Reward Xbox console purchases. Additionally, we are only able to track purchases made from the MicrosoftStore.com storefront, so a purchase from a retail store would not have been eligible
for our program. You may wish to see if that purchase generated any Rewards in the Microsoft Rewards program, which is a separate program.
