picture for website

i called technical support and they redirected me here after talking about my question

hopefully you guys can help me with this ?

here is my situation:

we are a group of friends who started making music and we recently were intent on creating our own website - however, a website without any images is not very attractive. therefore, i started looking at pictures on the internet and remembered a cool profile
picture i used on the xbox 360 when i was younger. however, i got told that i couldn't just use any picture on the internet, and that i had to get the rights to it first, etc. etc.

so, my question is this:

since the picture is available for everyone to use on the xbox 360 device, is it allowed for us to use it on our website ?

we wouldn't use it for profit or anything, it would be used as a profile picture. pretty much the same as on the 360 actually

I have random pics show up too. It's caused by them updating the site for the Xbox One but not doing it properly, so you get random Xbox One pics some of the time even if you don't have the console.

Can't find the option on the site either, another thing they've made more difficult or just removed altogether.

Weird question. But how can i change this stupid picture on my profile on xbox.com? I have this lizard thing and i havent been on the xbobx website in a long time. Just cant figure it out.. thanks guys if anyone can help that would be awesome....

 

No. Even though it can be used by anyone on the 360, it was created for that purpose. In order to use it for any other reason, you would need to have permission from the copyright holder.
