Picture breaking up / shifting to left on Ultra HD discs.

A hard problem to explain but on Ultra HD discs the picture is breaking up. The entire picture remains clear but the top or the bottom of the picture shifts slightly to the left, with a clear line across the picture. So the middle of the picture remains
how it should with the top or bottom of the picture shifting slightly to the left.

This only happens occasionally but I have to pause the disc and replay it to get the issue to go away (at least temporarily.) Why is this happening? Is the console faulty? It is only three weeks old.

What an odd issue! Let's see if we can figure out the source. I'm going to throw a lot of troubleshooting steps and/or questions at you so buckle up and let's get started.

First, does this happen with every UHD disc you have tried or is it only specific films? If it's specific films, could you give us the titles? Next, does this shifting happen with regular Blu-Ray films or DVD's? If you haven't tested that yet, please give
those a go to see what happens.

Let's move on to hardware now. Double check that your Xbox One S is plugged into the correct HDMI port on your TV. It should be plugged into the port that supports HDCP 2.2. This port can vary between manufacturers so check your manual for that information.
Also be sure that you're using the HDMI cable that came with your Xbox One S. You can also try a different HDMI cable if the original one doesn't work. Are you able to try a different TV? Maybe at a friend's house or something?

If none of that works, I'd recommend running your console through a
factory reset to see if that helps.

Hopefully one of those suggestions works. If not, as you just purchased your console 3 weeks ago, you should be within your retailer's return/exchange period and I would suggest returning your console for a new one.
