Physical games should be eligible for Play Anywhere

I think that physical copies of games purchased should be eligible for Play Anywhere, especially Xbox exclusives. Why should consumers get the **** end of the stick all because they purchased a physical copy? I think you should put an activation code inside
the case, and that code can be used to download the game on your PC. I spent $100 on Forza 7 Ultimate Edition, and I'm already mad that not all DLC over the life of the game is included in that, but when I saw that the DLC was ready to download but I couldn't
download the actual game on my PC because it wasn't a digital purchase, I was beyond aggravated. A lot of people don't buy digital games because they can get them cheaper with discounts, coupons, gift cards, etc. from elsewhere. You're basically punishing
people by not allowing them to download the game because they want to save some money. It's not like they can return the disc once it's opened either. Sure, they can trade it in, but they won't get the money they spent back, especially if there's a digital
code in there and used.

I've been an Xbox gamer since inception. I have the Gears of War 3 Special Edition Xbox 360. I have the Xbox One Day One Edition. I have the Gears of War 4 2TB Xbox One S Special Edition. I have the Xbox One X Scorpio Edition preordered. But this, this really
twists my nerves.

Beyond disappointed...

Just thought I'd share that with fellow gamers who might feel the same way.

Xbox Play Anywhere is exclusive to the digital versions of games. Physical disc based games are not eligible for Xbox Play Anywhere. Hope this helps clear up the issue!

Re-core and Ark obtained but do not appear in my xbox one games...

Are these games digital or on disc? Note that only digital games are eligible for Play Anywhere, so if these games are on disc you will not be able to play them on Windows 10.

A digital game is easier for the simple fact it is digital. It’s linked to an account universally and easier to transfer. You would need sort of code with the physical copy to enable play anywhere. If this was the case it would basically be like owning 2
versions of the game.

Forza 7 came with my xbox. It is listed as a play anywhere game, so i'm trying to put it on my windows computer since the xbox stopped working. Unfortunately, the store doesn't recognize that i already own the game. Any help?

Do you have a physical or digital copy of Forza 7? The only Xbox One bundles i could find are ones that come with a physical copy of Forza 7.

The reason i ask is because if its a physical copy then this is why its asking you to buy it again for PC. Only the digital copies of eligible games would be play anywhere.

That's because it's an xbox one game not a pc game or eligible for play anywhere.

The Sims 4 is not a Play Anywhere title and Play Anywhere does not work with physical discs. If you're trying to play on a PC, you would need to purchase the game for the PC or use EA Play.
