As the title reads... Phil Spencer replies on Twitter to a fan who asks about any other Microsoft Studio's remaster's.... "Lots of 360 games I’d like to bring to XB1, only so much time and want to focus on making new games. Not easy tradeoffs.”

This must be good news for a lot of the re-master haters out there.

But on the flip side. Capcom has said they are going to be bringing a lot of their games to next generation platforms.

Capcom should focus on working on their current projects and new ones. there is no need for them to remaster more of their games.

I want to see new games and the likes of new installments to already established ip's if those haven't had their story arcs ended.

Great news that MS is focusing on new games but I am still not against remasters. As long as I get a Gears one before they stop then I'll be happy

 

I am not against remaster's myself. There is a market for them. Personally, I don't know what more Capcom has to offer me as far as remasters. I have DmC: Devil May Cry. Which I love the reboot far more than the original. Resident Evil is so far off
the rails, I regret ever playing through 6. Remember Me was a fresh new solid IP. I am not sure if it warrants a remaster. There is already to many Street Fighter IV variants (which I own). Perhaps they will remaster Street Fighter IV so Xbox One users
have a Street Fighter.

As far as Microsoft Studio's is concerned, I like what he said. Would I love a Fable 2 and 3 remaster? Oh yes I would. But I want Fable 4 more.

I will own the Gears of War remaster when it releases.

 

I don't mind remasters if they are a game I didn't play before. While I do think there are a lot of remasters and possibly too many I don't hate them like I did before.

 

I guess I'm just kind of tired of the more recent games getting remastered, I actually like when some of the old classics get done like oddworld (even though Aus still doesn't have it), GTA San Andreas and Resident Evil.

I actually wish they would do more original Xbox games as that's the console I missed and some of the games would be awesome with todays visuals.

I have to say that I am glad the focus of their studios are new IP. But if MS has any IP, such as Halo, Gears, etc. that they want to remaster they could get a studio capable of quality work to bring them over with some polish. And really, these would
be great "gifts" for the community and I would say could help move consoles. Yeah, they could make some and sell them but the overall effect of a few free ones could be huge. Then there would be no reason to argue about these remastered games taking away
resources from new IP and new games although I am sure there would be a lot of complaints about it anyway.

 

I don't understand the argument about remastered games taking away from new IP, if anything they'd be bringing in more money that could go toward new IPs. I mean remastered games are easy money, reused or slightly modified assists of the core game subcontracted
to another studio while the main studio that made the original game developes the sequel/or new game. Is Gears remastered preventing gears 4 from being made? No. God of war 3 preventing GOW4? No. Dishonored preventing Dishonored 2? Nope. Halo MCC and Halo
5? Nope. I don't get it. New games are still being made people.

 

Some mistakes need to be left in the past.

"Dragon Age" is one of them.

How you could take a forumla for "Epic Win" (which is what "Knights Of The Old Republic" meets "Lord Of The Rings" should be)... and turn it into the dry monotonous snore-fest that was "Dragon Age" is frankly uncanny.

Disposable lor and trying so hard to get away from "Black and White" choices that they created a world of endless gray are what killed the experience.

That being said it was a necessary experiment for the overalol development of these sort of games even if it was a failed one.

 

Whatever happened to Mech Assault, Crimson Skies, and Viva Pinata? All were great games on previous Xbox platforms, and yet none have caught on for the next-gen. Why (well, I may already know the answer for the latter, but why not the other 2?)?

 

Mech Assault is a good question for sure GG. But I am not entirely sure a remaster is warranted. A sequel in my opinion is
