Phil Spencer Is Buying A NES Mini. Are You?

So I'm obviously to young to be interested in this garbage but when the NES Mini comes out... who's gonna get it?

The big news today was that against all odds, Nintendo will be launching a new console this Holiday season after all- it just won’t be the NX. Instead, they will be launching the NES Classic Mini, a re-release of their
first console, and the one tat revolutionized the gaming industry, bundling it with 30 games, all for a price point of $60.

Speaking on Twitter, Phil Spencer, head of Xbox, confirmed that he will definitely buy the NES Mini, noting a necessity to keep older games playable. He also mentioned that an Xbox app on Mac could happen, but right
now it is just a question of development priorities. How that would work, especially since the Xbox app is an integral component of the Xbox Anywhere ecosystem, is anybody’s guess (and really just a hypothetical question at this point).

I won't as I've had my share with that console. I guess it good for players that like that old nostalgic feeling.

 

Currently budgeting for a Nvidia gaming rig, but wouldn't mind having a mini.

 

I'll definitely pick one up at some point. I doubt I'll play it much, but I just want one to sit under my TV basically as a decoration. It's not exactly a "must have" at launch though, so I'll wait until I see a good sale.

 

And just to add... Don't forget it's that "garbage" that helped to innovate and pave the way for all the systems you see today. I guess you can't expect millennials to respect or even comprehend such things though.

It's a novelty I'll probably buy for a few laughs. The old Zelda games might be good for a run though...then again...

Probably of the games on it I really only ever played super Mario 3. Is it possible to add more games in the future or you're stuck with just the 30 that comes with it?

So, you think Halo, GOW, and the rest of today's games would still be around without the NES and it's predecessors? Just because there are still 8-bit looking games is irrelevant, and doesn't change the fact that without the NES you likely wouldn't be playing
the types of games you can today.

 

Not for me so I won't be getting one.

While I enjoyed those games when they where first released they aren't for me now,games have moved on & so have i.

They were good memories & i'd like to keep them that way.
