Phil Spencer Does It Again!

I was talking about the Tomb Raider reboot. Which has already been pointed out. The older TR titles were limited by the Playstation hardware and don't really compare. Uncharted definitely borrowed a lot from the genre (including TR and Indy games and films)
but Naughty Dog upped the ante considerably and redefined it. The TR reboot literally took what they did and rebranded it Tomb Raider. The sequel was great but it was the same game with new toys for Laura.

Well, it's getting some cracking reviews...... The first game I've seen for PS4 that I'd like to play, just not worth getting a console for one game. If No Man's Sky was ps exclusive too, I would probably get a ps4, but I can get that for Pc luckily.

 

I played some of it last night as it was available at 9pm instead of midnight. The reviews are correct. It is the best looking console game ever made. It's an amazing game ... ND took the genre and redefined it all over again. It's a system seller for sure.

 

I just watched the Crash Bandicoot Easter egg from it, brilliant. Gotta say it looks awesome....

 

trying to play through the Uncharted remastered games and almost done with the second one, and i can't say that it is as impressive as everyone stated, so far the rebooted Tomb Raider games are way above Uncharted IMHO, if 3 is more of the same, i doubt
i'll bother with 4.

on topic, Phil Spencer has shown himself to be one of the classiest people in the industry, every time he is in an interview or the spotlight, he is showing what a real gamer looks like.

looking forward to seeing him class up E3 as well.

I'm 10 hours in Uncharted 4 and its brilliant and oh so beautiful. Not going to convert anyone who has played and disliked the previous ones though.

Hopefully this new bar they have set will spur The Coalition on to make Gears 4 a real showpiece for X1.

 

We need to see more of this to hopefully end the silly fanboys stuff and to be role models for the younger gamers.

As for Uncharted 4 I'm loving it. Must admit I thought Uncharted 1, 2 and 3 were good but nothing special, but Naughty Dog keeps improving in their story telling and cinematic set pieces and used their experience and made a masterpiece. The graphics are
also the best I've seen on the current gen consoles, they're simply stunning.

Uncharted 4 is so much better and improved than the previous 3.

 

^ UC2 was nothing special? A game that's largely accepted as one of the finest action adventure games ever made. You must be really hard to please.

 

No I'm actually easy to please, but we can't all think a like can we? I didn't say Uncharted 2 was a bad game did I? In fact it was my favourite out of the 3, well until now.

I still don't think they were anything special but as I said, they were good games and I enjoyed playing them all. But Uncharted 4 have gone over and above and surpassed the last 3 games.

 

Curious, did you play UC2 at launch or on the PS4 Collection?

 

I've played all the Uncharted games on release and just recently completed Uncharted 1 again on the PS4 and will replay 2 after I'm done with 4.

They weren't perfect for me, like some times it was a grenade spamfest, climbing and jumping can be clumsy, some frustrating levels etc. But I don't think you're hearing me right, I'm saying they are good games but in my opinion not the best. I actually
found the gameplay in the Tomb Raider reboot more enjoyable, but like the story better in Uncharted.

 

^^ I agree.I enjoyed the Uncharted games & don't think they are bad games at all but never did quite understand all the hype surrounding them.

They just didn't seem to grab me like they have other people.

Still want to play Uncharted 4 though
