    Phantom Xbox360 controller


    My Son noticed yesterday that a new controller has connected to his Xbox360. I checked with my neighbors and none of them admit to it. But this second controller keeps taking over while he's on YouTube or other portions of Xbox Live.

    At the moment all he can do is turn the Xbox360 off and back on again to stop them. I've scoured Google looking for an answer but can't get any luck.

    How can we disconnect this phantom controller from his console?

    Xbox360 Console Menu Pops Up During Game, Console Shows Extra Controller Connected

    ... But, there is no other controller on in the house. We are in a house, not an apartment, but if someone in the neighborhood's controller is close enough to connect to our console, how can we make it stop? This is seriously annoying, stops in mid-game
    and you basically cannot do anything with the XBox360 during the time that the 'phantom' controller is connected.

    I usually use a usb cable with my elite controller. So, i suggest you try that or check for controller updates as well as a console update.
    Yes, it was updated as well as the phantom white controller. Bother the black and the phantom white controller exhibit the same symptoms

    This simply might mean you have a faulty controller and the buttons are broken in a position that turns your xbox on have you tried changing controllers and trying it that way?
