Phantom parental control settings!

I'm playing Dark Souls 3 on the Xbox one. Some of the system settings related to online play are inaccessible, with the message "some functionality has been restricted as per parental control settings". But this makes no sense, as I haven't set up any such
restrictions. I'm an adult. Everyone else using the Xbox is an adult. None of the accounts are registered as family/children. I've checked the privacy and online safety settings, and everything remotely relevant is on unrestricted/adult settings. Anyone know
what the problem could be here?

check your Xbox parental settings,make sure you select Adult settings,since your father is ok with you playing BF3.

That's strange. Well, sometimes, when your account graduate from child to adult, this graduation stuck in system, and your account remains with some restrictions. I sugest you to contact Xbox support to check if your account graduated correctly, if no, they
can do it manually. If not related to graduation, try to remove all profiles from your console, power cycle and re-enter your account, this trick makes miracles sometimes

Thanks, but it turns out it was just one of the security settings after all. Seems I had the one about viewing or sharing content or something set to friends only. Switched it to everyone and it's fixed the problem. No idea why the game came up with such
a misleading message about parental controls though - I'm 32, never had a child account at all!

 

How did you change this setting because im having the same issue
