Personal/work feature requests for Xbox One?

I love my Xbox One and have ideas I would like to see added, but not sure where to post so let me know if I'm posting this to the wrong area. If anyone cares here they are...

Personal features…

• Remote with wireless keyboard
• Skype in a snap sidebar
• Twitter in a snap sidebar
• Facebook in a snap sidebar
• Xbox to Xbox chat in a snap sidebar when watching TV or movies
• Interoperability with lighting and AC remote systems like Hue and Wemo
  
• FM tuner and/or Internet radio
• Option to show alternate screen saver or photo stream when playing Xbox music
  
• Feature to set (and omit channels from) a specific channel lineup in OneGuide
  
• Programmable Kinect volume control (so it adjusts x volume on up/down commands
  
• Alarms or schedule for turing Xbox on and off at specific times
  
• Schedule for Xbox to do certain things at specific times (like watch CBS or play Titanfall)
  
• Siri like functionality - that can communicate back (Cortana?)
• Calendar for tasks with system notifications of 'things to do' (perhaps with Outlook.com)
  
• Ability to define a queue or playlist of things to play from different services (abc movie, then xyz tv show, followed by 123 tv show)
  

Work features (if Xbox were ever considered by MS to market Xbox for work/office applications)…

• Ability to mirror Windows 8.1 devices to Xbox display (for large screens or projectors at work)
  
• Xbox Skype features that utilize Kinect

• Feature to identify multiple people in room via Kinect
• Feature to transcribe voice to text
• Feature to schedule and host calls
• Feature to send reminder and follow-up email to call participants (perhaps with Outlook.com)
  
• Interoperability with Skype on Windows mobile devices (for sending texts, attachments, etc. per user within the same call)
  
• Feature to record calls
• Switching between multiple cameras or kinects (for showing whiteboards, etc.)
  
• Features for Skype Xbox group to group calls (for remote offices, etc.)
  

• Xbox business apps (or simple API to easily create apps) for business to show dashboard metrics, etc. (such as Exchange, Office365 and possibly even SaaS apps like Salesforce, Dynamics, etc.)
  
• Xbox app to show bulletin-board type things (i.e. room schedules, company news, metrics, alerts)
  
• Security app that watches/guards the room (records if people are detected during certain time windows)
  
• And of course some app or functionality that highlights after-hours movie or game events/parties like a screen that shows upcoming events, top scores, event signup etc. (an Xbox One is way better than a ping-pong table at work).

Xbox One Feature Request

Here are the top items that I would most like to see (as they bug me the most):

1) Add setting to allow me to set the general volume of my Xbox One as a % of the TV volume as I always have to turn the TV down when using the Xbox One and back up again when returning to the TV.

2) TV Pass-thru should work without the Xbox One needing to be on.

3) Have an easy way to see all the DLCs for games I own and filter and order them by price (as there is no easy way to see what DLCs are free or cheap without having to go into each one on turn). Also order by release date or somehow know which ones I already
looked at so I can easily find new ones I have yet to look at.

4) Similar to 3, but for new games. When looking at apps/games, don't show me ones I already have installed and allow me to filter them by price.

5) It is a pain to have to put the disk in to play a game - is there no way other than buying them via download (which by the way is way too expensive - it should be the cheapest option as it has no resale value) that allows me to play them without a disk.
If a games comes with a unique key, I can't install it against anyone elses account anyway - so why make me put the disk in. To sell a disk on should support uninstall, which releases the unique key for reuse.

Generally though - I like the improvements that are coming - bring a few more on.

 

Feature request...

I wish they'd add a sleep timer option. When I watch TV late at night it'd be nice to set a timer so everything would shut off after a certain amount of time that I set. Maybe in a future update.

This dude wants every appliance going and to be invented all in one machine, i guess that's why they called it the one lol

 

I can't imagine that the Xbox will ever be used in a business application as it is still a games console and would most probably be shunned by any businesses even if it were done.

For your other suggestions, I suggest hitting the Feedback Forums. I can tell you now though that FM radio won't be implemented as the Xbox doesn't have the receiver, Internet Radio is a possibility though although it may distract from the new Xbox Music
feature.

 

Although those are some good/interesting/weird ideas, isn't there a sticky at the top of the Xbox One general discussion forum for this kind of thing?

- toast bread

- microwave hot pockets

- dispense soda or beer from a tap

 

Should have been named Xbox Infinity if it had that many features, but that sounds more like a Messaging service,

 

What exactly is a hot pocket? I'm intrigued.

 

I would like to have snap skype.

 

A Hot pocket (or Pizza pocket if you are Canadian) is a Pizza pastry you heat up in the Microwave. They can be nice, very nice. The gourmet ones are delicious.

 

Horrible nutrition though... hoooooooot pocket!!

 

Thanks for the feedback. There's no sticky I saw at the top of the forum for FR's ...apologies if it struck some of you as overkill, weird, or in the wrong place. I suspect there's a better place to post this kind of stuff. I only wanted to post feedback
about Xbox One features I'd like to see in a place MS might see it. Maybe a more visible area in the forums for individual FR's with user voting would be cool to offer.
