Persistent Log in issues for any Xbox game on my Windows 10 PC

I'd be most grateful if someone could help. I have been - for months - unable to log on any of the Xbox PC games; my most recent experience is with the game Wordament, but this keeps happening with other Xbox PC games, too. I keep seeing these "unable to
connect" error messages, as well as the error code 0x80072EFD, whenever I try to log on to these games.

The login error just now occurred with Wordament, EVEN WHILE I am logged into the Xbox.com website. I have tried researching and following the "solutions" posted on many of the Microsoft forums, but to no avail. I have even tried the App Troubleshooter,
    and it didn't help.

Can someone please help? Thanks in advance.

(I have been trying to upload a PNG or JPG screenshot of the error, but I keep getting an "upload error".)

    :)

Thank you for your response. Since you changed an information on your account, it is possible that the app is still trying to remember or save the old data of your profile.

Here are some solutions that can help you resolve the issue:

Solution 1. Reset Windows Store to clear cache.

    1. Press Windows key + X on your keyboard.
    2. Click on Command prompt (Admin).
    3. Type wsreset.exe, and then hit Enter.

Solution 2. Turn off the Two-step verification by following the steps on this

    link
    .

Solution 3. Uninstall and reinstall Xbox app.

    1. Click Start, and then type Windows PowerShell on the search box.
    2. Right-click, and then select Run as administrator.
    3. Type the following command to uninstall Windows Store: Get-AppxPackage *xboxapp* | Remove-AppxPackage
    4. Hit Enter.
    5. Launch Windows Store again and download Xbox App.

Once the Xbox app is installed, log in to your account without turning on the
    Two-step verification
. If you are able to log in, you can turn on the two-step verification on your account again.

Keep us posted with the results after performing the suggested solutions above.

Persistent Log In issues for any of the Xbox games on my Windows 10 PC

I'd be most grateful if someone could help. I have been - since early 2016 - unable to log on any of the Xbox PC games on my Windows 10 machine. Upon opening the app and trying to log in, I keep seeing these "unable to connect" error messages, as well as
    the error code 0x80072EFD.

The user ID and password are not the issue, because I can log on to the Xbox.com website (in fact, that's how I am writing at this time) or ANY other Microsoft website with the SAME user ID and password. I have tried researching and following the "solutions"
posted on many of the Microsoft forums, but to no avail. I have even tried the App Troubleshooter, and it didn't help.

Using the Windows Powershell, I even uninstalled the Xbox App and reinstalled it. Still, no joy. I can't still log in.

Can someone please help? Thanks in advance. --

The error code 0x80072EFD means there is an issue with your network configuration. You can perform the solutions below to further troubleshoot your concern:

Solution 1. Disable proxy server settings on your computer.

    1. Press the Windows key on your keyboard, and then type Internet Options in the search box.
    2. Click the Connections tab, and then click on the LAN settings button.
    3. Uncheck Use a proxy server for your LAN, and then check Automatically detect settings.
    4. Click OK, and then click OK again to save the settings.
    5. Launch Xbox app and sign in again.

Solution 2. Connect to a different network.

If there are different networks available, such as routers or public a WiFi, connect your device and check if you are able to log in.

You can also use a different account to test if there is an issue with the profile settings.

If you need further assistance, you can reply to this thread anytime.
    1. I have no proxy server.

    2. I am connected via T3 LAN, there is no other network to connect.

Thank you for the detailed steps. Unfortunately, they didn't work.

I cleared the Store cache, turned off the 2SV, uninstalled the Xbox app using the PowerShell (Admin), re-downloaded and installed Xbox app from the Windows Store, launched the Xbox App and tried to log in. Got the same old 0x80072EFD, an error code which
    apparently does not exist.

    This is SO weird.

Persistent Log In issues for any of the Xbox games on my Windows 10 PC

    Hi Suirauqa,

To properly isolate your concern and provide you an appropriate solution, please clarify the following information:

    • Were you able to sign in on the Xbox App before?
    • Have you done any changes on the computer prior to the issue?
    • Did the issue start after an update?
    • On what type of network connection is your computer connected?
    • Have you tried to sign in using a different account on an Xbox console?

We're looking forward to your response.

Thank you for your message. For some reason, the presence of this message eluded me - hence the 4 month delay in response. I recently installed the Windows 10 Creator's Update. The problem still remains. To answer your questions:

    • Were you able to sign in on the Xbox App before? - Prior to early 2016, yes. Not a single time thereafter.
    • Have you done any changes on the computer prior to the issue? - The only change was upgrading to Windows 10 from Windows 7. Otherwise, no. Well, that and turning on Two-factor identification for my Microsoft accounts.
    • Did the issue start after an update? - I am not sure. But some time in early 2016, I realized that I could no longer log on to the Desktop version of the Xbox that came with Windows 10.
    • On what type of network connection is your computer connected? - T3 LAN. Not an issue.
    • Have you tried to sign in using a different account on an Xbox console? -
No, I don't have an Xbox console. All I want is to occasionally play games on my Desktop Windows 10 computer, and that's is. If my Microsoft account ID and password works for every damn Microsoft site, there is no reason why it shouldn't work on the Xbox App
      on Windows 10.
Oh, and the 0x80072EFD error code that always shows up on the Xbox App whenever I try to sign in? It comes up as a non-existent error code on the Microsoft Support site.

Can you or someone help me with this year-long+ issue? Thanks.
