  1. Persistent headset/party chat issue.

Up until about a month ago, I had experienced no previous party chat issues, however suddenly my headset (the default standard one) could not detect my voice, although I could hear other people in both party and game chat. The headset was fully functional,
other than the blue ring around my gamerpic would not light up when I spoke, and no one online could hear me.

First assuming it might be a network issue, I made sure my NAT setting was 'Open', which it was and still is. Then, I made the decision to buy a new headset (turtle beach), thinking the problem may have been hardware related after all. Unfortunately, again
I have exactly the same issue. Sounds of games and other people come through perfectly, but for some reason my voice is not registered, and the blue Xbox party chat ring around my name doesn't light up, and I can't be heard.

Having fiddled with various options in the settings, and having reset my router and hard resetting my Xbox console numerous times I am still having this issue. I've also made sure there are no xbox controller updates for me to download either. Also, my headset
is not on mute, I've checked countless times with my headset adapter and in the party itself. I would appreciate any response on how to go about trying to solve this issue.

    Thanks.

    :)

  2. Xbox One Headset Adapter does not work for game chat

    Hello,

It is a strange issue, which I think is caused by software bug. I have Xbox Elite Controller and Xbox Headset Adapter attached. I use Sennheiser Momentum headset. Repro:

    1. Connect headset to controller via headset adapter

    2. Start party chat, talk to Cortana - everything works fine

    3. Start The Division and try game chat - I can hear everything. But mic is not working.

    4. Remove headset adapter

    5. Connect directly to controller

    6. Party chat and game chat, both work fine

Expected behavior: game chat should work using headset adapter the same way when connecting via headset adapter.

Have somebody experienced the same issue?

    Blizzardwizard1,

This is the same problem my son is currently having and I want to add to your thread hoping the Microsoft can assist. So we have two Xbox One's running on the same wired home network. My chat works fine. On my son's, he can hear me, and I can hear him when
we're in a party in a game.. ie Rainbow Six Siege. Other people on our team can hear him, but he can not hear anyone else. We did the same as you. Went out and bought a new Turtle Beach headset thinking that was the issue with no luck. Checked the controller
software, and it is all up to date. Tried restarting the Xbox with no luck. Also no issues with his account record. Hopefully we can get some assistance from Microsoft here.

  8. Persistent headset/party chat issue.

This may seem like a long shot but please make sure the chat adapter is fully seated. It is possible to plug it in not all the way and you will get partial functionality from the headset i.e. you hear them they don't hear you.

And for the Original Poster I think you may just have a broken stock chat piece. They break very easily due to the wiring coming out of the adapter in a straight shot. It needs to be a 90 degree angle at the adapter so the wires don't get kinked.
