Persistent app and game quit or log out during ADSL instability

    Hi,

Firstly, have been a fan and user of the Xbox line since the original console debut and have praised how connected the console had become with the introduction of Live and network play. A few years ago this was how I had kept in contact with mates when we
had all moved away from our home town.

Coming back to live in my home town on the Far South Coast of NSW, I have noticed issues with apps and games quitting frequently. I am aware that the determining factor is the network connection, as it only occurs when there are ISP outages or issues, quota
has been reached, or when downloading/streaming content from other devices over the internet. Living in a house with several people and rural ADSL its bound to happen.

However the apps and games that I am using these days should be contained within the home network. The two most recent examples:

    • Plex - In the house one server supplies content to an Xbox 360, Xbox One and several PC's via the home network. It is common for more than one of these of these to be running Plex at any given time. When conditions are good not an issue. As soon as there
is load on the ADSL line, both consoles are signed out of the app and logged out of Live, however the same cannot be said about any other device. Often when the Xbox's are force signed out there is a message asking whether the app has been purchased. Firstly,
yes. Secondly, free app. Thirdly, premium subscription for the product for the next month. Lastly, installed on a home console (Xbox One). It seems illogical for the message to appear regardless of connection to Live.
    • Sleeping Dogs (Xbox One - Games with Gold)- Same symptoms as above and to my knowledge no critical multiplayer or Live functionality that I am aware of and none that I need to access during play. This could be said for the majority of games that I have
been experiencing this issue over the past 12 months and could be remedied with access to local content where there is a failure in Live network connection. It would make sense that in these circumstances a user would be able to access a game running purely
from the console and access the Live network for updates to cloud saves and achievements when the connection is restored or stable. Personally, I would prefer no access Live content if it meant uninterrupted sessions when connections were poor.
I don't know if I'm alone in any of this but it would be interesting to know if anyone else has had similar problems and how they have resolved them.

    Cheers,

    Eli

    :)

  2. Fixing the Quit Ban 101

I prefer this rather brutal but honest quit-ban system:

Level 1 - Quit once during the game will get you suspended for 15 minutes from participating in the next MM game.

Level 2 - Quit again (on same day or ride out 15 minutes suspension) during the game will get you banned for 24 hours.

Level 3 - After the 24 hours ban pass, quit anytime during the next MM game will get you banned from MM for three days.

Level 4 - After 3 days ban ends, quit anytime during the next MM game will get you banned from MM for one week.

Level 5 - After 1 week ban ends, quit anytime during the next MM game will get your XBL account for Halo MM suspended for a month (you can play other games such as COD:MW in XBL to ride out the month ban from Halo MM).

The system log 5 quits in a row for a gamer regardless of how much of time gap between quitting from one MM game to quitting the next one. It just detects gamer's MM activities, count one quitting in a row and apply the quit-ban step automatically. However,
the system can detect that if you quit because of poor/laggy Internet connection and drop you from MM or you have been invited by another gamer while you were in a MM game, it will not count your quitting for either reason.

Of course, the system will offer a warning message to gamers who click "Leave game" for example: "We detected that you quitted a recent MM game once, if you quit again, you will be banned for 24 hours. Do you wanted to leave the game: Yes or No?"

This will force gamers with a habitual history of quitting to stop quitting during the MM games in Reach. I also wish for a system to detect gamers who are AFC/K (Away from controller or keyboards) during the MM games and apply reduction of credits (like
-5000 cRs) at the end of a MM game.

All above is just an idea. Might be feasible or not.

Xbox Live logs out during game play

Xbox live kicks me offline multiple times while im playing different games. Even if im not playing online. i can log back in just by simply signing in but sometimes 30mins later im kicked right back off doing it all over again. Happens any time i use the
system. I test the connection and everything is fine, no error codes. Whats going on?

  5. Hi there!

This sounds like a profile authentication issue, something is going to check that your profile has indeed downloaded and launched these apps and is failing.

Let's try and fix that by
    removing your profile
    and then
    power cycling the console
, then power it back on and sign back in. (Removing the profile should not remove the Home console designation.)

Once that is complete post back and let us know if the issue persists.

    Disturbing messages from Xbox app

I think, during your trial to record, you may have hit the win+G button while a chrome window was active. This tells game bar to identify that app as a recordable game.

The reason why the messages persisted after you logged out is because the xbox app is searate from game bar--the feature that records the screen.

cannot download anything from ea play on xbox gamepass, tells me i need to join ea play

I'm Samy an independent advisor. Welcome to the Xbox community. How are you?

Log out of the EA app, use the EA recovery app, reopen the app and when you log back into the app use the log in option with your Xbox account and try to download the game again.

If the issue persists, please contact EA to resolve the issue with their application.
