    Persistant Controller Issue - Disconnecting or Only Home Button Working


    Over the last couple of month my controller has been doing one of two things:

    1. Will randomly disconnect (sometimes mid game, sometimes when I'm just surfing my dashboard, or if the system has been idle and I go to reconnect the controller it won't connect).

    2. Controller will connect and only the home button will work (no other buttons will work).

    I have tried hard resets, I have unplugged my system, I have cleared cache---nothing works. My controller has been completely unresponsive (minus the home button working) for over a week.

    MICROSOFT THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE!

    Support has been no help. They suggested I send my xbox one in for service which could take over a month. WHY SHOULD I BE W/O AN XBOX FOR A MONTH!?

    My system is less than a year old and is kept in excellent condition. Further, I am getting ready to be on XMAS break. Why, when I finally have some free time to catch up on my games, should I have to send my XBOX away?

    Microsoft has been aware of this issue since at least September. Why has it still not be resolved?

    I have been a huge Xbox supporter and fan since the original Xbox was released but this inconvenience and lack of a solution is really making me question why I paid for this system.

    Support, please advise if you think I have missed something in regards to trying to fix this issue. (I can assure you that I have done everything phone support has advised to NO AVAIL).

    Controller doesn't work only in games

    Thanks for the reply, but none of these are the issue I'm having. My controller works totally fine, unless I have a game running. Then only the home button responds. Maybe it's an issue with the games (but all the ones I have?).

    Example: Controller is working completely fine. I launch Battlefield 4. No button on the controller now works. I hit the home button. I return to the dashboard and the controller once again works fine.

    How is your Elite Controller holding up?

    There is the light clicking but the home button issue must be a defect as my home button works flawlessly.

    has everyone made sure that their controller with headset and headset adapter plugged in if applicable has been updated? many people forget to update their controllers

    Ive found the batteries slide around in the controller.

    Could do with some padding to make the enclosure tighter

    I think its was designed more fir the plug and play than fir batteries.

    Next ti e it plays up try popping the cover off and make sure the batteries are pulled in tight

    Might nit fix it but has helped with my disconnect problems
