Permissions?

    I purchased Xbox live for my son. He downloaded Fortnite and when he tried to play it says something about not having proper permissions. Ideas?

    Check that your son's privacy settings allow him to play games online: Sign in to your Microsoft account

    Look for the "Join multiplayer games" setting. This might be set to "Block", which could be causing that permission error.

    I found it, there are permissions in like 30 places for this, microsoft parental permissions, xboxlive permissions, etc. and the instructions are not clear at all

    Sorry to hear it. If the item was purchased within the last two weeks and less than two hours of the game has been played you can log in to
    account.microsoft.com and search your billing history for the item and process the refund there.
