    Permission Loop for online play


    In ALL of my settings on my account and my sons account have been set to ALLOW online play. However when we try to play FORTNITE it keeps asking for permission to play and I put in my pass key and it just loops again to ask for permission. Fortnite says
    " online play is blocked for this account" .... Where is it blocked at because its all set to ALLOW online multi-player game play. I'm getting frustrated...its been 2 hours I've been messing with settings and permissions. HELP!!!!! YES WE HAVE GOLD , its a
    family account . My other sons has all the same settings and his does not ask for permission to play.

    I doubt very much the problem has been caused by anything you have done. I've spent the last three days trying to resolve the same issue with Roblox for my Daughter. My daughter's settings are exactly the same as my two son's yet she cannot play and they
    can. Three online chats later and the problem still isn't fixed. After resetting the permissions, restarting the xbox and signing in and out a couple of times she can sometimes play for a while, but as soon as she signs out of the game and tries to sign into
    another we get the same settings error and she can't play. Something is clearly wrong on Microsoft's side.

    You can try this if you like, it worked for us a couple of times but now doesn't have any effect - might be worth a try for worth a try for you.

    With your son signed out, on the xbox go to Settings - Network - Network Settings - Advanced Settings - Alternate MAC address - Clear - Restart Now. Then sign back in and see if he can get online.

    To those who may experience a similar issue in future, I was able to post my query into a chat with Microsoft's virtual agent AI in a "contact us" page, and was there able to ask for and chat with a human who said they were aware of the issue and would pass on my details to a team working to fix it. A day or two later, the issue was resolved!

    Therefore if you believe you are experiencing this same issue (and they haven't universally fixed it) then I suggest you do the very same.

    To change the privacy settings your account must be an adult account, otherwise you will not have access.

    if your account is for a child, you need an adult account to link your account and manage your privacy settings
