Permanently banned console and account

So I assume I received a permanent console and account ban from the Xbox network. Reason I say assume is I don't even know if it's really permanent. The only thing I received in an email was enforcement action, that seems to be a pretty vague statement. Why not just tell me how long the ban is for? If this ban is indeed permanent isn't that an excessive sentence seeing as though someone spent their hard-earned finance to purchase this console for the enforcement team to just take it away, making the console pretty much unusable? On top of that I have no previous Xbox network bans within the past 5 years. I understand being punished but even in that there should be steps, this is cruel punishment. I should've at least been granted the grace of being banned for a week or 2 before completing taking everything away. This issue has left me emotionally distraught and depressed. Is there anyway someone can tell me exactly what's going on with my account without all this vagueness?
