Permanent Console Ban

Microsoft do not un-ban previously banned consoles as they are permanent. They do not ban people's consoles/accounts lightly, they do so after several investigations.



The most common reason for a banned console is modifying it, but there are other reasons such as marketplace theft.



You might want to post in section 14 in order to get an official answer. Although they might just delete your thread and post a link like below as they do not discuss console bans.

Believe under the T.O.U., if your account gets banned, you forfeit all your digital licenses. It would seem your friendship cost you quite a bit; perhaps your friend will step up and reimburse you?

UPON RECEIVING A PERMANENT SUSPENSION, YOU FORFEIT ALL CONTENT LICENSES, GOLD MEMBERSHIP TIME, AND MICROSOFT ACCOUNT BALANCES ASSOCIATED WITH THE SUSPENDED ACCOUNT.

 

If your console was set as your home console you can still play digital games while not connected to live.

If it wasn't set as your home console then your stuffed.You might want to get your "friend" to pony up for a new console & all the digital content you've lost.

If your account was banned as well then you can't ever redownload any digital content on that account again.

 

I find it hard to believe that MS is handing out permanent console bans for communication. What other reasons were given for your "friends" bans?

These seemingly petty communication/other bans are in fact a form of corporate waterboarding to push you to comply with political correctness etc. If you're a repeat 'offender.' You lose everything!

 

Sorry, but when the OP won't even admit what else they were banned for, then no, I still don't believe they were permanently banned simply for communication. It's pretty obvious that there is more to the story that's intentionaly being left out. I'd be willing
to bet the OP's "friend" modified the console and that's why it's permanently banned from Live.

 

So you'd rather believe that people actually tried to turn a console into a toaster than to believe that the countless threads pointing out that. "Their console was banned for no reason"?

Do you even know what the age rating on a game means?

All it means is that someone under that age can not buy the game.That's it.

As it tells you on every game with online multiplayer the age rating does not apply to the online side of it.

"It's to protect kids" Or so MS and Sony would like everyone to believe. But thats not the case is it.

As is evident, MS bans consoles and strips digital content from "repeat offenders". - which is very profitable for MS, (comply or die) and also helps to further shut down the used market. Even people who buy a New console which came with a downloable bundled
game. IF the buyer sells or even gave away the game MS in recient memory calls it. "Digital thieft."

I'm sure MS will add more 'rules' with which to both further circumvent consumer prtections and corporate ethics, but I for one am all in favore of console gamers waking up and raining all over MS and Sony's parade. But that will never happen, so the corporate
elets will continue their unethical practices while hiding it behind. "It makes XBL safer." all the while laughing all the way to the bank.
