People on my wifi network can cast screen to my xbox one without my approval.

Hi there,

Does anyone know by any chance how to disable your Xbox one to appear as a streaming device on for instance: YouTube? While playing a game the Xbox will open up youtube out of itself and then someone can control this. This is highly irritating as my games
are being interrupted by someone on the same Wi-Fi network. My xbox is currently wired to the router.

I have tried the following:

- Do not allow smartglass connections

- Pressed off the option to: Allow Play To streaming

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Playto on Xbox 360 E don't work

1. I activate (DLNA) on my Xbox ( set Playto to on)

2. I use the same wifi in my Xbox and in my iPhone (iOS 10.2)

3. Xbox System is aktuell

But I can't connect my iPhone on DLNA : Cast Symbol in YouTube Not visible . I can connect youtube only on tvcode and Not on wifi. The Cast App (TVs Cast (DLNA) ) can't recognize my Xbo too..

Please help me!

Cast to Xbox One not working on different subnet

My laptop is wireless and my Xbox One is wired. They are on different subnets since I am using a wifi mesh. From Win 10 I can case a video file to my Xbox One but it will never play until I plug an ethernet cable into my PC. Also, virtually any time I pause
the cast for even short periods of time, the cast won't start playing again. I have to close the Cast to App on my PC and close the video on the Xbox One before trying to cast to again. Any suggestions?

how could someone control it ? is there another xbox near by ? if your hardwired to the router the xbox dosent use wi fi ...im confused ...if youtube is the only thing doing it , I would uninstall that ...

I'm just going to dig up this thread because it is an issue that needs resolved. Nobody at Xbox has a clue this is a problem, but it is. Simply uninstalling Youtube and Netflix is not the solution. I'm sorry.

If the settings or preferences options that were previously described are not available on your XBOX One X console, there are other ways you can try to stop a device from casting to it on a wifi network.

One option is to change your wifi network settings to prevent the device from connecting to the network altogether. Another option is to disable casting on the device itself, if possible.

To change your wifi network settings, you can access your router's admin page and block the MAC address of the device you want to stop from casting. This will prevent the device from connecting to the wifi network and thus prevent it from casting to the XBOX One X console.

To disable casting on the device, you can check the settings or preferences options of the device itself. If there is an option to disable casting, you can select it and the device will no longer be able to cast to any device on the wifi network, including the XBOX One X console.

If neither of these options works, you may need to consult the user manual or contact customer support for the device or the XBOX One X console for further assistance.

This will delete all saved games and any progress on my one player games, correct?

along with many other things such as profiles and such on my xbox

my xbox can find the networks just fine

i can even connect on my hotspot from my phone just fine

however, on the home wifi network i was connected to when all this began, it will find it, ask me to put in the wifi password, then refuse to connect.

while watching my modem/routers connection screen, the xbox does not even actually attempt to connect

same problem here. for some random reason I can not connect to my wifi.

other devices are getting connected to the wifi-network without any issues.

I have the latest xbox one (bought this week). looking forward for some help!
