PC Xbox games are trying to sync, stuck at 0% and never actually start.

When I start any game now for the first time since 1/21/2022 the game gets to its first loading screen and attempts to sync data. During this time the progress bar stays at 0% forever. If I cancel syncing I never get the prompt again for that game, but am now forever stuck in the game's first loading screen. Restarting the game, reinstalling the game, or even signing out won't fix the problem. This renders any game through the Xbox app on Windows unplayable.

Needless to say, I'm looking for a fix. I've seen a couple others post about the exact same problem, but none of them have an received an answer. I'm happy to answer questions about my experience so that a fix can be found and help others in the future.

I hope this will help to restore your Windows 10 system files and troubleshoot the Microsoft Store and Xbox application.

Reinstalling Windows is the last resort for issues like these, but it sure does help. First let's try to troubleshoot this;

Open Powershell in admin mode and paste the following, which I believe reinstalls the default apps on Windows 10.

Get-AppxPackage -AllUsers| Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml”}

Something interesting to note:

The problem only seems to affect smaller game developers. Games such as Astroneer, Enter The Gungeon, and Trailmakers are all experiencing this issue. All the while bigger games such as No Man's Sky, Slime Rancher, and even Subnautica are perfectly fine as of the moment.

Are there possibly consistencies with these games? Engine? Size? How it handles data?

I believe the Xbox application on the Windows 10 PC corrupted.

I have repaired & reset all of the applications to no avail. This might have changed something, but not the pop-up issue or the game refusing to load.
