PC Xbox App Bugs - error 0x00000000 among other things

This PC Xbox app is the buggiest experience I have had in trying to install a single game. First time using it and it wouldn't let me install using my external SSD. In the Xbox app, I click on my profile, go to 'Settings>General>Change where this app installs games by default,' and switch from my local C drive to my external drive. For some reason throughout my search for fixes to the problems detailed in this post, this setting would just sometimes randomly reset back to my local C drive (I had at this point 'changed where new content was saved' in my PC settings, setting the installation of 'new apps' to my external SSD and then reinstalled my Xbox app). It would also not let me select my external SSD when it asks you to 'Choose a drive' in the installation phase of any game, instead only showing my C drive as an option. Strange, as it let me choose my external drive in 'Settings'. The install button itself also just straight up would not work. I had to look at several fixes online, following esoteric instructions until I managed to find one that worked, having to reinstall the Xbox app and restart my PC several times over.



After all that, I finally managed to get the install button to work. But wait, I receive an error. It asks me to install some game services which will take a few minutes. I do so, and then I try resuming my installation, but then it starts glitching, the text flashing extremely quickly between 'installing' and 'error'. The Xbox app at this point won't let me do anything. The app itself is not in a 'not responding' state or anything, I just can't click any buttons on the app. So I exit and decide to restart my computer once again.



I launch the Xbox app to still see the game in the left sidebar has an error. Okay then, I try to resume the installation and it does nothing, instead it gives me a 0x00000000 error. I now try to cancel the installation entirely, it disappears from my downloads but is still on my sidebar with the same error. When I go to the store page, it says 'ERROR 0% | VIEW PROGRESS,' the same error with no option of trying to install again, even though I supposedly cancelled the installation. The failed installation simply reappears when I click the 'VIEW PROGRESS,' which returns me to the downloads page I just cancelled it from.



This is where I am at now with this store, with seemingly no other options at this point. It doesn't seem like I can actually 'cancel' the download, I am just stuck with this error. I have redownloaded the Xbox app and restarted multiple times with no success. I am not sure what is wrong with this store and I have no idea how to fix any of these issues.
