PC playing xbox live for free.

yeah thats what i think will happen. PC gets live for free and alot of people are going to ditch the x1 because "why pay to play my x1 when i can play x1 on pc for free?".

 

I had no problem paying a sub to m/p on the Ps4 , even tho its free on the Ps3 .

I have no problem with free gold on Pc ...... welcome brothers and sisters .

Anyway .....£40 is nothing to me .

 

I don't think there will be a lot PC gamers who will use XBL,anyway.

They already got everything.

 

Most PC gamers aren't going to care that they aren't paying for Gold because they aren't going to use it.

The only incentive for any PC gamer to use any type of GFWL, Xbox app or whatever they want to call it is if they offer the Xbox exclusives to the PC. If they do that then as others have stated....the One becomes obsolete. Buy a gaming PC and you get better
graphics, more options, more everything.

If their intention is to open a store selling only PC games that are available elsewhere then they are way to late to the party. Most of us already have large gaming libraries elsewhere from companies with better pricing models and third party competition
for purchasing licenses/keys.

 

I spent years playing games on PC but gave up because of modders/hackers ruining almost every game I played.

I've owned nearly all consoles going back to the PS1, but when I got the Xbox 360 I decided enough was enough with PC and went gold with Xbox. I've never looked back.

I still game on PC, but now only offline. I'm more than happy to pay for Xbox live, as for the most part, it's trouble free.

 

As has been stated PC gamers would probably not buy. But offering it free on PC can get people using the eco-system and that is a big thing for MS. Live is good and getting more gamers involved is a great idea. I just hope they work hard on cross-buy
games. And integrating the social features. I do not use those much but many do.

Maybe, it just seems that PC only gamers make the choice of PC only. Console gamers come in 2 flavors. Those that enjoy both console and PC and tend to have both and the huge group that are just console gamers and do not want to spend for a PC that would
run the games the way they want as well as messing with all the tweaking, etc. I really do not see to many switching if they are console centric. I am a PC/Console guy and I would not give up the console currently. I like the streamlined console experience
at times even with the powerful PC I built.

 

ive been ALMOST exclusive to xbox for my gaming and it does not feel right that i have to pay so pc can play for free. Now im not saying i want pc to pay for live because everyone knows that wont happen. I'm hoping that MS does something for the xb1 gold
members.

If Pc gaming is Better , in EVERY way ...

Have you pc gamers spent $Xxx on Xb1 consoles + Live fees , just to play a few games not available on Pc . ?.

Thats like being married to a supermodel , and ..."dating" an ugly woman on the side ...isn't it ?.

Or

Do you even own Xb1's with gold , maybe you just like hanging around the Xb1 forums ?.

Like I said , just curious ?. And don't mind at all , if Pc's get free live.

 

@TheSilver thats it, pc people that dont pay for gold are like "oh yeah everything works out fine". People like myself who have been paying for gold for almost 10 years are like "ummm i bought a xbox one for what reason?. should i have gone ps4 like the
soon to be smart people?."

 

and to be frank its pretty upsetting news as a almost exclusive console gamer. If it wasn't for the fact that smite is coming to X1 i probably would have sold my x1 and put it towards a ps4 or pc. Smite saved my xb1.

 

what does the PS4 have to do with anything? you have to have PSN+ now to play online for most games.

i still see this as a non-issue, i enjoy the console gaming experience more than PC gaming, so i will continue to pay for Live and be happy with my console and not give 2 licks about what PC gamers have and don't have, what they pay for and what they get
for free.

and i'm sure Xbox consoles will take a hit from this, but i don't think in anyway does this spell doom for the X1, chances are is that there is still some fine print that hasn't been typed out yet.

I'm a PC gamer that owns both next gen consoles and pays for both Plus and Gold just as I did last gen.

I'd love to save money and have every game available on a single platform but until that happens I'll continue to do as I've done for years to play the exclusives....it's still cheaper than golf.

I hardly get time for 1 gaming platform , never mind 3 ....

 

If i was on the ps4 i would not be paying for the servers so PC could play ps4 games on them.

 

I'm sure Microsoft would love to charge PC gamers to access multiplayer, but PC gamers have many options. Steam does everything Xbox Live does and it's free, so unless Microsoft want to dig a grave for themselves I would say not
charging PC gamers a monthly/yearly subscription is a smart move. About removing the gold subscription on Xbox One and Xbox 360, I can't see why they would when 360 and One users are happy to pay. The Xbox One as hardware makes little to no profit for Microsoft,
so if Microsoft remove the sub then that's less money coming in and I'm sure shareholders/Microsoft will feel that.

Like other people on here have said, you can find XBL disconnected. Just do a Google search. I can't remember the last time I paid full price for XBL, and that's because I don't think it's worth full price. I would love for XBL
to be free, I am paying for the service, but I really don't know what my money is getting me, well apart from being able to play with friends.
