PC playing xbox live for free.

they need to find a way to make the console xbl members happy. only thing i can think of is reducing the price of gold or offering free games monthly that aren't complete ***.

Xbox Live on Windows 8 Tablets

If they did add party chat then it would be a Gold exclusive feature.

Online play is free when playing on Live on the PC, so they wont want to add another feature for free that Xbox players have to pay for.

 

^ Or, make it a bit more open source, Get some emulation going. There's allot of older pc games that would love the x86.

i just hope they find a way to make the people paying for the servers (that pc are gonna get for free) happy. so far these "deal of the weeks" and monthly free game are pretty crap for the most part.

 

Personally I have no problem with paying for Xbox Live. I've always been happy with the service it provides and if others get the same service for free then good luck to them.

 

If/When this happens it will be my first time on a gaming PC I refuse to pay for something i can get for free elsewhere.

There would have to be some difference in the service provided for me to continue paying.

 

PC has been playing free with Live since 2008 with Games for Windows Live. The only significant difference was the lack of party chat.

The reputation of the service was irreparably damaged though when Microsoft tried to charge PC players the Gold fee, they told Microsoft to...go away in quite strong terms.

Xbox is still a strong brand, even among PC gamers, so rebranding to Xbox Live for Windows is a good move by Microsoft. They couldn't have tried to charge again, they knew what happened the last time and weren't going to make that mistake again.

I wouldn't expect the service on Xbox Live for Windows to be any different from Games for Windows Live.

 

I'd rather pay for Gold than pay to build and maintain a gaming PC. But Vaynel it right, it's really just a rebrand.

I'd also like to suggest that Gold subscribers will probably have more options/features across PC, Xbox, and Windows phones/tablets than their Silver counterparts. So there'll be incentive to subscribe to the service for a greater experience. IMO

Maybe even more incentive for console users - who haven't yet - to perhaps adopt more devices in the Windows/Xbox ecosystem, tied together by
Live. =]

 

Gold is only needed for online gameplay if you want to play you pay. If not use a gaming pc not very hard to understand. I think now days too many people feel like they are owed something for doing nothing. Wah wah wah is all I see . Grow the hell up.

 

The only way they can do it is if you want to play say fable online on pc its free but if you want to play with xbox users you need to pay for gold that way pc still gets there free online and xbox user wont feel hard done by

But which ever way it is I will still pay for £39 a year os nothing

@vikingland, if you want to play online you pay?? Not on a PC, PS3 or Wii U you dont. I think your the only one seeing people feel entitled in this thread.

IMO the XO will die if this happens, most people have a pc that are equivalent specs to the XO so whats to stop them selling up and gaming on there? I know 75% of people i have spoke to about this issue have said they will do the same, now i know that doesnt
represent even 0.001% of xbox owners but as i said its my opinion.
