PC/Mac users town hall - Is ESO noteworthy?

I have a very comfortable trackball (a Logitech Marble Mouse) which I bought to alleviate my mouse knuckle. i just hold down the w and use the camera (trackball) to move smoothly. But sometimes I try to move by holding down the left button which is what
i do in Diablo (I think) and end up shooting someone instead. oops! lol I need to go back into Diablo which I have been playing more since the revamp and see what's causing this because I know my primary and secondary attacks are also on the mouse buttons.
i dislike having to use the keyboard for any common actions. I don't mind hitting a key for map or inventory but moving is a different matter.

 

So after yesterdays patch, the game seemed to be riddled with more glitches. I actually lost track of how many times I fell through the ground or ran through some steps and found myself stuck. As a result I learned /stuck basically allows your character
to commit suicide so that you can be allowed to port to the nearest wayshire - at the cost of damaging your armor.

Also, most areas took longer than usual to load...which is a problem when a) you can't see the aggro'd mob you pulled. b) you run to mine iron ore only to find that someone beat you to it. c) you can't turn in a quest until 'Raz' completely loads.

 

Its still a very glitchy game no doubt. Its going to take them awhile to get on top of the bugs. Sometimes their patches just introduce more. I'm not so sure Craglorn is going to be a success that's why I am not worrying about getting a guild for it. I'll
wait and see what players have to say about it first.

 

Very glitchy indeed...I even had to restart a couple of quests. Overall, still happy I got the game. I made yet another character, only because I wasn't happy with the skill points I spent in the others. I'm glad all my charters can share the bank. Tip...it's
good to log out in a bank.

If I were to join a guild, it would purely for the social experience. - I'm more of an end game PVE support/solo PVP hunter.

 

Seems after doing some research I'll be making yet another character...Bretons seem to make better healers than the High elves.

 

Bretons always were the best healers but their damage was only so so. I don't like the Daggerfall Covenant so I may try a Breton insurgent eventually.

 

Yes, I think I found my main...a Breton Templar - Daggerfall Covenant. My secondary will be a High Elf Sorcerer - Aldmeri Dominion. Lol, I plan on filling all 8 character slots...but a majority of my characters will probably end up being in the Aldmeri Dominion.
It took me awhile to get used to the skill tree/racial passives.

 

I am finding that my Mac gets really hot after an hour or two in the game. I don't think even Diablo II did that but I'm going to test it out. I put a little fan in back and that helped some but not much. Do you suppose it is because the hardware is just
minimum configuration. The graphics card is actually one iteration down from the minimum. I think I will be happier with it on a system that can handle it more comfortably.

 

I just started playing through the Daggerfall Covenant as part of my veteran rank grind and really enjoying it. The zones and story have a sort of eerie feel about them but it puts a different spin on the game. I also am thinking about putting a little extra
RAM on my computer just to get more out of it but it handles the game quite well regardless.

 

Do you think having extra RAM would improve the load times? That's the biggest issue that I have. When I enter a an area or a zone I am able to move, however, I have to wait for everything to appear before I can do anything. i.e., I have to wait for the
door to appear before I can open it or I have to wait for the NPC to appear before I can speak even if I know exactly where they are at.

I actually have all the recommended settings...exactly. I'm wondering if it's the server. I'd hate to go out and make the upgrades to find the same results....lol, and this is why I hate PC gaming.

 

The US server does struggle at times of high traffic. That's why I mainly play at off peak times.

 

Last night was weird. I had a crash in Khenarthi's Roost. When I went back in I was all alone. For a long time, all alone. It was like being in Skyrim. lol I finally saw a couple of players but the rest of that session it was like a ghost town. Then I had
to stop for a while and when I came back, I was immediately attacked by a harpie. No fair! I hid in the corner of a (different) temple so I wouldn't be molested.

 

Seriously debating on whether or not I should upgrade my laptop or sit tight until they fix all of the glitches...and I have a feeling it's going to be a while before the game is performing normal.
