(PC) Install button missing in Store, can't install XBox app on child's account

If the Install button is missing from the Xbox App in the Microsoft Store and you're unable to install it on your child's account, there are a few steps you can try to resolve the issue:

Reinstall Microsoft Store: Try reinstalling the Microsoft Store. You can do this by following these steps:

a. Go to the Start menu and click on Settings

b. Click on Apps

c. Search for Microsoft Store and click on it

d. Click on Advanced options

e. Click on Reset

f. Wait for the process to complete, then try installing the Xbox App again.

Check for Windows updates: Make sure you have the latest Windows updates installed on your PC. You can check for updates by going to the Start menu and clicking on Settings, then clicking on Update & Security.

Clear the Microsoft Store cache: Try clearing the cache of the Microsoft Store. You can do this by following these steps:

a. Go to the Microsoft Store app

b. Press the Windows key + R to open the Run command

c. Type wsreset.exe and press Enter

d. Wait for the process to complete, then try installing the Xbox App again.

Install the Xbox App as an administrator: Try installing the Xbox App as an administrator. You can do this by right-clicking on the Microsoft Store app and selecting "Run as administrator".

In the steps I requested won't be an "Install to" button, I believe you confused the steps and you are on the Microsoft store web and not the app, check again as I requested

Once you find the account you need to log in with that account on the Microsoft store app, you choose your library on the bottom left corner and look for the gane among your purchases

If the installation button it's greyed check the details on the same site and will let you know what is missing, usually are updates pending

To install from the Microsoft web store you need to activate the remote installation feature on the PC you can learn more about that here

I didn't mean that the one on the Microsoft store was a Child account, but that you could install games for adults if you have an adult account on the Microsoft store app, if you don't see moods option on the Xbox app it's because one of 2 reasons

1.- Game do not support moods
2.- Account used in the Xbox app it's a Child account

Well, then that's a bug with the new beta for the Xbox app, before joining the beta program I could install mods for games on the game page, it's just now that I joined the beta that I can't.

I assume you are trying to remote install a game from your Xbox app on PC. Usually when it fails to install it will show you an error below the install button.

Can you open Store app on your PC and search for the game there and try to install from there? Also, try restarting your PC.

The account being linked to Facebook does not affect that you can't log in a different account on the PC

You could try to log out of the Xbox app, then open the Console companion app, you can install it on the Microsoft store if it's not installed and install on the other account there, it will automatically log you in the Xbox app
