    PC headset mic not working on controller headphone jack


    Hello,

    I have a Turtle Beach Z300 PC headset, and have recently connected it to my new Xbox One controller with 3.5mm headset jack. The problem is, the audio through it is working, but the mic is not. I have tested it using Skype and party chat, and it doesn't
    output anything, even when the volume is turned up. I know the mic is on, because I get feedback through the headphones. I also find the same issue when I connect it to my PC using 3.5mm jack, but when I connect it to my Android phone, the mic works but the
    sound does not. I have heard that CTIA headsets work with the controller whereas OMTP ones do not, but the headset is too poorly-documented to find out which it is.

    Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

    The newer controller

    From what ive read the newer controller with the 3.5 headphone jack includes mic monitoring ( not the adapter the controller itself) , so can i use any headset, and get mic monitoring? Or does the headset need certain hardware.

    Audio Dongle Adapter & Cable requires the use of an optical cable? I have a sennheiser PC headset, which just has the headphone and mic jack. Is there another adapter to convert? Would the mic still be fed through the controller port?

    Using a USB Mic with an Xbox One console

    Hi there

    As stated it's suggested to use a headset instead of a USB microphone but if it works usb as power source with pink plug you can get a splitter that goes in to the jack of the controller and mircophone jack into mic jack female and headphones into the headphone
    jack and use the usb grabbing power that way, That is one way I have seen people setting them up like for broadcasting but that's for PC's mostly.

    I doubt getting an answer for my hi-fi headphone - attachable mic - microsoft adapter problem as posted above. It probably would not work anyway. Maybe a compromise solution could be: PC headset with two 3.5mm jacks (audio + mic). The audio jack to the DAC,
    mic jack to the adapter.

    This might be the only way to get chat audio to the headset while maintaining superior game audio from the DAC. Check out the forthcoming Audio Technica ATH ADG1 PC headset.

    Plugged Xbox One headset in the Universal Audio Jack on the front of my PC and it doesn't show up in Sound and doesn't work.

    Does a different set of headphones work in the same PC jack? It is possible that the jack has an issue, and will not support any headsets.
